16 May - Twentytwo extend their sponsorship -  In addition to their sponsorship of the League's leading scorer, the football specialists twentytwo have extended their sponsorship of the league by sponsoring the Clubs page of the League website.8 May - Division 1 - Redmires and Southey end all square -  The final game of the season saw two of Division One's promoted clubs, Redmires and Southey Social finish their programmes with a 2-2 draw. Chris Roberts and John Mellor twice gave Southey the lead, but first Dave Knaggs and then James Kirkham grabbed equalisers.

6 May - First class Service take the Cup - In front of a crowd of 750, Sheffield Civil Service celebrated their first ever visit to Bramall Lane by taking the Macron Cup with a 2-0 victory over League Champions Stocksbridge Park Steels.

After a goalless first half, a terrific save by Service keeper Steve Warrington stopped Steels taking the lead and soon after, when Service were awarded a free kick on the edge of the area, Man of the Match Paul Billard's shot went round the wall to find the bottom corner and ten minutes later Service took a firmer grip on the cup when sub Andy Bath cut inside before curling a shot into the bottom corner. Service almost had a third in the final minute when Steels keeper Liam Grayson needed to be at full stretch to tip a shot onto the post, but he couldn't deny Service their first Macron Cup triumph A full report will appear in The Green Un on 14 May.

Below shows Paul Billard hitting the opener and the ball beating Liam Grayson before all his team mates pile on top of Billard. The last two show Andy Bath hitting the second and turning to celebrate. The final photo shows Service about to celebrate after receiving the cup.

The Teams: Stocksbridge Park Steels: Liam Grayson; Matt Price; Andy Horsfall; Lee Shepherd; Kevin Davies; John McSeveney; Mark Garrett; Richard Stirrup; Mitchell Savage; John Ward; Adam Todd. Subs: Chris Brooke; David Hodgkinson; Nick Ward; Edward Elliott; Tom Jowett

6 May - Division 1 - Redmires Knagged into Runners-up spot -  After twice falling two goals behind, a Dave Knaggs (pictured right) treble saw Redmires come back to beat Rivelin 4-3 and clinch the Division One Runners-up spot. Although Redmires had plenty of their own chances, two Ada Wright strikes gave Rivelin a two goal half time lead and although Shaun Downing pulled one back soon after the restart, Jamie Cherry restored Rivelin's two goal lead. Knaggs then got to work and his treble completed a remarkable comeback to give Redmires the Runners-up spot.

1 May - Division 1 - The Vine take the title -  Brent Healey and Rikki Davidson goals in a minute just before half time and a second half strike from Danny Seaman saw The Vine (pictured left) beat Redmires and clinch the Division One title. The Vine needed to win the game to take the title, but any other result could have seen Redmires pinch it as they still have two games to play. Both sides found it hard to master the bumpy pitch and windy conditions, but it was The Vine who began to settle first and they almost took the lead when skipper Craig Woolley hit the bar and when Will Blakeney hit the post with a free kick.

Chris Shirtcliffe's long throws were also causing the Redmires defence problems and it was from one of them that Brent Healey headed The Vine into the lead. Less than a minute later The Vine doubled their lead when Redmires keeper Karl Taylor made a very rare error and Rikki Davidson pounced for his twentieth goal of the season. The second half saw neither side dominate, but the title was a good as won when Danny Seaman seized onto Shaun Bly's long ball and beat the onrushing keeper to send an angled shot into the top corner. Redmires responded and pulled one back when James OConnell met the ball at the back post, but they ran out of time and the title was The Vine's. Both side's were also quick to praise referee Mick Firth for his handling of such a crucial game. Below the first picture shows Seaman picking himself up after hammering home the clinching goal and then celebrating. hey are followed by more action from the game and The Vine squad celebrating with their medals and trophy.

CBC Premier - Villa Nick it from West End to leave Stannington Runners-up -  After falling behind to a first half penalty by David Haley, Hemsworth Villa hit back with a Nick Owen hat trick to just pip Woodhouse West End and that result means Stannington Village are the CBC Premier Runners-up for a third successive season. Ryan Powell's trip on David Haley led to the penalty (picture top left below) and Haley picked himself up to send keeper Shayne Bennett the wrong way (picture second left below), but the second half saw Villa hit back when Alex Yule's shot could only be parried by keeper John Badkin and Nick Owen knocked home the rebound.

Owen soon put Villa ahead when he raced onto a through ball before rounding the keeper to score and when West End conceded a penalty, Owen took the kick to beat the keeper's left hand and complete his hat-trick (fifth picture below). West End, fielding a severely weakened side never gave up though and after Haley grabbed his second of the game only a terrific save by Villa keeper Shayne Bennett stopped an equaliser. Owen's hat-trick made him the CBC Premier's joint leading scorer on 24 goals with Ecclesfield 147's Craig Senior.

Division 2 - Oughtibridge hit back to deny Crookes -  Crookes & District went into their final game of the season after winning their last two and knowing that a third success would lift them off the foot of the table for the first time all season and it looked good for them when Marcus Mozley gave them a first half lead, but Oughtibridge Village hit back in the second half and won it with two strikes from man of the match Lee Smith. It was still a very positive end to the season for Crookes though and they can look forward to next season with renewed confidence.

28 Apr - CBC Premier - Steels leave Village people hanging on -  Although Mark Garrett's opener for Stocksbridge Park Steels was cancelled out by Sami Eric and Adam Todd saw his penalty saved by Stannington Village keeper Nathan Ryan, Stannington couldn't get the win they needed to secure a third consecutive CBC Premier Runners-up spot and when Steels were awarded a second penalty, Adam Todd made no mistake and won it for the new champions. Elsewhere a second half Ryan McGuinness strike gave Woodhouse Angel a deserved point at home after Scott Preece gave Hemsworth Villa a first half lead.

Division 1 - Redmires held by Aston -  After Nathan Warren gave Aston Swallownest a first half lead, Redmires hit back in the second half to take a point with an Andy Birks thunderbolt. It means that if The Vine beat Redmires this weekend, the title will go to The Vine, but any other result could see Redmires overtake them as they have two further games left to play.

Division 2 - Fairbank-Rhodes are Runners-up after Niagara held by Old Harrow -  Despite Daniel Cooper and a Paul Cadman penalty twice giving Niagara the lead, they couldn't get the win they needed as they were cancelled out by a Martin Shaw strike and a Dean Constable own goal, so the Runners-up spot went to Fairbank-Rhodes (pictured right). Elsewhere, two Matt Sides goals and an own goal gave Old Blue Ball a 3-1 home win over The Park, who replied through Ricki Green.

24 Apr - CBC Premier - Steels take the title, but Laycocks go down -  Stocksbridge Park Steels landed their first CBC Premier title with a 4-0 victory over Handsworth WMC and the Division Two title was also decided when Bulls Head got the draw they need at Niagara, but Laycock Sports stay in the top flight ended with a narrow defeat at Stannington Village. The Division One title is still undecided after Redmires won 5-1 at Southey Social and current leaders The Vine won 6-0 at Anston Athletic.

After Steels midweek win over woodhouse Angel, the maths were simple – victory over Handsworth WMC would see them lift the title for the first time since 1999 and put them in line for a League & Cup double, but a nervy first half saw Handsworth, playing with just one up front, comfortably hold the Steels attack. As soon as Mark Garrett put Steels ahead soon after the break, the nerves disappeared and Steels went on to dominate. Mitchell Savage netted for the fourth game in a row to double Steels’ lead and when Adam Todd grabbed a third the celebrations began even before John McSeveney added a fourth.

Pictured left is the team celebrating, while below is more celebrations, plus action, including the opening goal, scored by Mark Garrett.

After Laycock Sports had slipped to a 3-0 defeat at home to Civil Service in midweek, only a victory over Stannington Village would save them, but their stay in the top flight ended with a narrow 3-2 defeat. It took just ten minutes for Stannington to make the breakthrough with Sean Flynn providing the chance for Dan Green to score and they doubled their lead a minute before the break when a Sami Eric corner was headed home by Simon Jepson.

A minute after the break Laycocks survival hopes got a boost when Sam Read’s corner flew straight into the net, but just four minutes later, they fell two behind again when Matt Asher raced onto a long ball out of defence and headed over the onrushing keeper. Laycocks didn’t give up though and Scott Wesney pulled another back for them, but it turned out to be too little too late to save them. The win for Stannington keeps them on course for a third successive League runners-up spot.

It didn’t go so well for Civil Service at the weekend when bogey side Yew Tree maintained their 100% win record against them. Ryan Cockayne crossed for Scott Birch to open the scoring a minute after the interval and he doubled Yew Tree’s lead from a Tom Nelson cross. Paul Billard pulled one back for Service, but Steve Gordon ended their hopes with Tree’s third.

Division 1 - Redmires Knagg Southey into submission, but The Vine stay top - Redmires continued their quest to add the Division One title to their Sunday Junior Cup win with second win in four days. Dave Knaggs (pictured left) had scored twice in their win four days earlier and he followed that up with four more as Redmires coasted a 5-1 victory at a Southey Social that started the day a place above them. It might have been different had Karl Taylor not made a terrific save to stop ex Redmires player John Mellor from giving Southey the lead, but once Knaggs started their was no stopping him. He had scored all his four before Matt Campbell netted Southey's consolation, but Redmires had the final say with a Liam Clarke goal.

That win saw Redmires climb up to second, but still above them is The Vine after they won 6-0 at Anston Athletic. Danny Seaman met Jamie Moore’s pass to give The Vine the lead before Andy Marsh added a second. Craig Woolley headed a third before Will Blakeney beat four men to add their fourth. Rikki Davidson then scored his nineteenth of the season before Seaman scored his second.

Division 2 - Bulls Head take the title -  Bulls Head knew that they only needed to avoid defeat when they travelled to Niagara at the weekend, but it didn’t look too promising for Bull though when Tom Staniforth headed Niagara into a first half lead. They needn't have worried though as five minutes after the break, Nick Ash scored his thirty second goal of the season to give Bulls Head the point they needed to get the celebrations underway.

Fairbank-Rhodes climbed back into the runners-up spot with a 4-1 victory over Throstles and Niagara will now need to win their final game to go above them. An Andy Baxter penalty gave Fairbank the lead before Scott Whittington netted his twenty fourth goal of the season. Oliver West pulled one back for Throstles in the second half, but Fairbank wrapped up the points when Joe Knight took his season’s tally to twenty two with a second half double.

Stuart McGregor with three and Wayne Royle with two both their tally to five in four days as Royal Oak finished the season in style with a second eight goal win in four days, this time over The Park. Cole Starkes, Ryan Barker and Paul Turner added Oak's others.

Junior Blades recovered from their mauling by Oak four days earlier as two Chris Jones goals saw them come from behind against Old Harrow and give their manager Tony Grapes a birthday present. Fran Robinson had given Old Harrow the lead in the first half, but the Blades levelled when Jones deflected a Matt Halliday shot past the keeper before hitting the winner after Jake Schofield squared the ball to him (see the first two pictures below showing Schofield crossing and Jones coming in to score, along with other action from the game).

Bottom club Crookes & District defied the odds for a second game in succession as they won a nine goal thriller at Highfield Old Crown, but it came at a price as Matt Hudson suffered a broken leg in a fifty fifty challenge he attached no blame to his opponent. Carl Stinchcombe, Paul Jackson and Chris Cottyn had all scored before Crookes clinched it with two Sam Firth strikes. Eddie McErlain with two, a Kieran Wilson header and one from Jamie Frost after he came out of goal in the second half kept Crown in it, but Crookes held on.

21 Apr - CBC Premier - Steels go to Towns-end -  Two Gary Townsend goals helped Stocksbridge Park Steels to a 4-0 at Woodhouse Angel and they now need just one point from their last two games to clinch the title. It means that it is the first time the title has left Woodhouse for seven years after Woodhouse George for two years and Woodhouse West End for four years took the last six titles. Mitchell Savage gave Steels the lead and Townsend's strikes either side of half time had already clinched victory before Adam Todd added a fourth.

Division 1 - Redmires Knagged to promotion -  Redmires clinched promotion back to the CBC Premier at the first attempt as two Dave Knaggs goals helped them to victory at Handsworth Old Boys. Andy Birks hit the Handsworth bar early on, but Redmires made the breakthrough before half time when a Dave Knaggs corner was headed home by Nick Hickson. Knaggs finished off a good move to double the lead after half time, but Handsworth got back into the game with a Tom Houghton goal, until Knaggs played a one-two with Dale White before hitting his second to complete a 3-1 victory.

Division 2 - Bainbridge double lifts Niagara -  Two Danny Bainbridge strikes gave Niagara victory at The Park to clinch promotion, leaving Throstles victory over Highfield Old Crown in vain. Bainbridge finished off a good move to give Niagara a first half lead and although Ricki Green's strike from the edge of the area just after half time levelled for The Park, Bainbridge hit Niagara's winner after Tom Staniforth unselfishly squared to ball for him to score.

After a goalless first half, Ashley Hughes precise sidefooted shot looked like giving Highfield Old Crown victory at Throstles, but Nick Wells, Nick Curtis and Liam Bonnick goals in the last ten minutes gave Throstles the points that confirms a fourth place finish, just outside the promotion places. Wayne Royle hit a hat-trick as Royal Oak condemned Junior Blades to their biggest defeat of the season. Although Adam Caywood had briefly levelled for the Blades, Ryan Barker and Owen Clarke both hit doubles and Stuart McGregor made it eight for Oak

Handsworth Charity Cup - Simmo treble sees Handsworth WMC off to a flyer -  Liam Simmonite hit a hat-trick and Tom Crosby and Robert Pratt one each as Handsworth WMC got off to a flying start in their Handsworth Charity Cup campaign, beating White Rose 5-1. Referee Brent Marsh also showed joined in the spirit by donating his fee to the Charity fund.

19 Apr - CBC Premier - Service leave Laycocks on the brink -  Civil Service completed a 3-0 victory at Laycock Sports to leave their hosts on the brink of relegation from the CBC Premier. Civil Service took the lead when Danny Fowler's shot could only be parried by the keeper and Paul Billard followed up to score. Fowler was again the provider for the second when he put Adam Firth through to beat the keeper. Laycocks rallied briefly in the second half and hit the woodwork, but any thoughts of a comeback were quashed when Billard turned provider for Fowler to score.

After a goalless first half, Handsworth WMC had a similar victory over the already relegated Ranch. Handsworth took the lead when Robert Pratt's free kick was met at the near post by Liam Simmonite and they doubled their lead when Matt Holmes put Kieran Gallagher through to beat the keeper. Simmonite finished off the scoring after taking another pass from Pratt in his stride.

Division 2 - Niagara fall to a shock defeat by Old Harrow -  Niagara's hopes of taking the Division Two title suffered a possibly fatal blow when Old Harrow produced a real smash and grab raid to beat them 2-0. Jono Abdulla crossed for Paul Costello to head Old Harrow into a first half lead and Niagara perhaps knew it wasn't going to be their night when they had a penalty saved by Harrow keeper David Taylor. So solid was the Harrow defence that despite Niagara having most of the possession, they rarely called the Taylor into any further action and when Gareth Morley was put through one-on-one with the Niagara keeper he scored his fifth goal in his last three games to crush Niagara's chances.

17 Apr  - County FA Taylor & Emmet Sunday Junior Cup - Redmires lift the Cup -  In a dramatic Final at the Look Local Stadium, Stocksbridge, Redmires became the third Blades Super Draw League side to lift the County FA Taylor & Emmet Sunday Junior Cup when they came from two down to beat Rotherham League side Arbourthorne SWD 4-2 after extra time.

Although Redmires started strongly, they were rocked when Arbourthorne took the lead with a Brett Spankisman goal in their first attempt on goal. Despite Redmires still having the lion’s share of possession, Arbourthorne doubled their advantage when Brandon Wilde finished another swift break. Redmires stuck to their principles of good football though and they pulled one back when man of the match Nick Hickson scored from close range.

Redmires continued to dominate in the second half and they deservedly levelled when Dave Knaggs crossed for Andy Birks to rise highest and plant a header past the Arbourthorne keeper. Arbourthorne’s chances were hit when a player was dismissed for an off the ball incident, but they held out until the end of normal time. In extra time, Redmires then made their man advantage pay and Knaggs smashed the ball home from the edge of the area to put them in front. Knaggs was again involved a minute later when another run down the line ended with a cross for Dale White to bundle the ball home and clinch the trophy for Redmires. Pictured below is Andy Birks heading Redmires equaliser, and Dale White bundling in their fourth. Also pictured is skipper Andy Jones, who had only arrived back from Lanzarotte at 2am before the game, receiving the cup from former County FA Chairman Maurice Matthews (pictures by Peter Revitt)

CBC Premier - Savage blow send Steels to the top -  Stocksbridge Park Steels went top of the CBC Premier with a hard fought victory at Hemsworth Villa. The home side had the large majority of the play but the Steels defence held firm and they took the points with a single Mitchell Savage (pictured right) strike in the first half.

Pitsmoor Royal Oak’s chances of avoiding the drop were hit by defeat in their final game of the season at Macron Cup finalists Civil Service. Skipper for the day, John Charles, hit a real screamer to give Service a first half lead and Tom Stubbs took a Paul Billard pass in his stride to double it soon after the break. Leon Stocks poked one home to put Oak back into the game, but those hopes were quickly smashed when Billard hit a contender for goal of the season on the volley from thirty five yards. Danny Fowler finished the scoring when he headed Service’s fourth.

Yew Tree ended their relegation worries with two wins in four days. Four Scott Birch strikes and an own goal gave them a 5-0 victory over Handsworth WMC and this was followed by victory over Ranch. Mark Woodcock gave Tree an early lead and although Richard Berry levelled for the visitors, Woodcock won it with his second. Handsworth WMC recovered from that defeat by Yew Tree with a 5-0 win at a severely understrength Woodhouse Angel. Robert Pratt finished off a short corner routine to give them the lead and James Leesley soon doubled it. Pratt then set up Andy Stevens for a third, before Pratt netted his second and set up a fifth for Carl Atkin.

Division 1 - The Vine and Southey Social are up  -  The Vine clinched promotion with a second home win in four days, 4-0 against Anston Athletic. Jamie Moore finished off a three man move to give The Vine a half time lead and Joe France doubled it in the second half. Davidson then added his fourth goal of the week before Ricky Gregory headed home.

Southey Social will join them in the top flight after they won 4-2 at Loxley. Matt Lingard celebrated his birthday by scoring a first minute penalty to give Loxley the lead, but his day ended badly when he suffered a leg break. Todd Guest levelled for Southey, but Ed Wickett restored Loxley’s lead before half time. Southey didn’t panic though and leading scorer John Mellor levelled and they went in front with a Simon Jebson strike before Mellor clinched it with his second. Southey showed their concern for their injured opponent by having a collection among the players at the end of the game and presenting it to Loxley.

Aston Swallownest’s chances of promotion were all but ended by a home draw with Millhouses Thermolast. Danny Turner set up Ali Berry to give Millhouses the lead just before half time, but ten minutes into the second half Billy Evans headed a corner home to draw Aston level. After that though it was Millhouses than looked more likely to win it and it needed Aston keeper Scott Hall to keep the scores level.

Division 2 - Throstles slip up so Fairbank-Rhodes are up -  Fairbank-Rhodes are promoted from Division Two after the only side that could deny them, Throstles a shock second defeat in four days at bottom club Crookes & District. Two Oliver West headers gave Throstles a two goal lead at Crooke & District, but instead of folding, Crookes hit back to level through Chris Cottyn and Matt Hudson. A Sam Firth penalty put Crookes ahead and Hudson completed his hat-trick with two more. Jon Butler added a sixth for Crookes, making Curtis’s third for Throstles just a consolation.

Old Harrow twice came from two goals down to win a nine goal thriller at Chapeltown RBL. A Dan Shillitto double put Chapeltown in front, but they were cancelled out by a Gareth Morley double. Declan Carr and Joe Maples restored the home side’s two goal lead, but James Thompson, William Peace and Joe Bilby goals gave Old Harrow the points. Royal Oak came from behind to win at home against Highfield Old Crown. Two Craig Smith strikes and an own goal kept putting Crown ahead, but an own goal, Lewis Barker and Owen Clarke strikes kept drawing Oak level before they won it with a Peter Braybrook free kick.

Despite a Rees McLandless double for Old Blue Ball at home against Oughtibridge Village, two from Village’s player manager Dave Hudson and one from Dan Hill gave the visitors the points. Matt Cundy gave The Park the lead after just forty five seconds at home to Junior Blades and they doubled it with an Iain Martin header. Jake Schofield pulled one back for the Blades, but Ben Lee restored The Park’s two goal lead before the break. The Blades didn’t give up though and Tom grapes pulled one back before Sam Bouzida hit a last minute equaliser.

14 Apr  - CBC Premier - Haley double not enough, while Handsworth get Birched -  Despite two David Haley (pictured left) goals, Woodhouse West End's chances of taking the title received a further blow as they were held at relegation threatened Laycock Sports as Alex Napier scored twice. Yew Tree guaranteed another season in the top flight with victory at home against Handsworth WMC, while Hemsworth Villa were held by Macron Cup finalists Civil Service.

For opposite reasons, both Laycock Sports and Woodhouse West End needed maximum points from their clash and it was West End that got just the start they wanted when Ashley Atkins' run and cross was met by Dale Fuller and he turned to fire into the bottom corner. It started to go wrong after that though and Alex Napier equalised before Luke Glaves put Laycock's ahead before half time. After the break a David Haley penalty drew West End level, but Napier netted his second to put Laycock's back in front and it looked like they would claim the win they needed to take them out of the relegation zone until a long clearance by West End keeper John Badkin created mayhem in the home side's defence and Haley grabbed another equaliser. Laycock's still had another chance to win it when they were awarded a penalty, but a great save by Badkin meant both sides took just the point that didn't really help either of them.

Yew Tree needed victory at home against Handsworth WMC to guarantee their place in the top flight, but it didn't look likely in the first half that saw Tom Smith head against the Yew Tree bar before an Andy Stevens free kick again rattled their woodwork. The second half started with Liam Simmonite hitting the woodwork again when he should have scored and soon after Scott Birch (pictured right) got on the end of a cross to head Yew Tree in front. If that was against the run of play, the rest wasn't as the visitors collapsed. An own goal doubled Yew Tree's lead before Birch volleyed his second from almost on the halfway line. Matt Jessermino then set Birch up for his hat-trick and Nathan Hanson then crossed for Birch to net his fourth.

Hemsworth Villa took the lead at Macron Cup finalists Civil Service when Kyle Dowling slipped Alex Yule in on goal and they almost doubled it when Nick Owen closed in on goal, but Steve Warrington saved with his legs. Warrington then produced a fingertip save to stop Ashley Emson's shot finding the bottom corner. Warrington's efforts were rewarded in the second half when Civil Service levelled, but it had an element of luck about it when Chris Fowler's cross floated over everyone and into the net.

Division 1 - Handsworth pay the penalty as The Vine go top  -  The Vine are just a point away from promotion after three Rikki Davidson (pictured left) penalties beat Handsworth Old Boys. Danny Seaman was brought down to hand Davidson his first penalty, but the already relegated Handsworth Old Boys' Greg Burgin scored a great solo goal to stun the home side. They needn't have worried though as a Davidson cross was stopped by a hand in the area for Davidson to score from the spot again and he completed the rare feat of a hat-trick of penalties when Seaman was again brought down in the area.

Division 2 - Fairbank-Rhodes and Niagara almost there after vital wins -  Fairbank-Rhodes and Niagara both had vital wins against promotion rivals, with Niagara beating Royal Oak at home and Fairbank winning at Throstles to take Fairbank within a point of certain promotion. Chapeltown RBL claimed a point at Junior Blades. Throstles knew that a home win against fellow promotion chasers Fairbank-Rhodes would have given them the edge over them in the promotion race and they got the perfect start when an error by the keeper allowed Nick Curtis put them in front, but driven on by the excellent Scott Abramski, Fairbank hit back to level before half time with an Andy Baxter penalty. Fairbank then went on to take the lead in the second half with Joe Knight's long range effort, before Jon Tomlinson (pictured right) made the victory certain from close range.

Niagara hopes of taking another step towards promotion and possibly the title, when Craig Foster's trusty right boot hit the ball into the bottom corner and Scott Wostenholme doubled their lead with a header. Royal Oak hat to win to get their promotion chances back on track and Lewis Barker pulled one back, but Ben Dronfield restored Niagara's two goal lead with his left foot. Oak pulled a second back through Owen Clarke, but further pressure brought no reward and Niagara held on to the points.

11 Apr - Ash on fire to lead the scoring charts -  With 31 goals to his name, Bulls Head's Nick Ash (pictured left) leads the goalscoring charts. Behind him is the CBC Premier's top scorer Ecclesfield 147 Players Lounge's Craig Senior with 24 goals. They are closely followed by Fairbank-Rhodes' Scott Whittington with 23, while Southey Social's John Mellor leads the Division One charts with 21. All the detail of the Leading Goalscorers can be found in Results.

10 Apr  - CBC Premier - West End dealt Savage blow by Steels, while Angel are down -  The CBC Premier title race looks as if it will go right down to the wire after current champions Woodhouse West End could only take one point out of six, while their main rivals Stocksbridge Park Steels made it six out of six when they came from behind to beat West End. Dale Fuller and the prolific Nick Hague gave West End a two goal lead at Civil Service in midweek, but the Servicemen claimed a share of the spoils thanks to two Ben Brown strikes.

Stcoksbridge meanwhile beat local rivals Yew Tree with a John Ward strike, an Adam Todd penalty and a diving header from Kevin Davies, so there game at the weekend against West End took on extra meaning. It looked good for the current champions West End when skipper Dale Fuller scored his third goal in as many games with a terrific header into the top corner ten minutes before the break, but Steels gradually started to impose themselves on the game and West End found themselves on the back foot.

It was almost inevitable that an equaliser would come, but when it did it had an element of luck about it as the ball struck Mark Garrett on the nose and was deflected into the net. Further Stocksbridge pressure followed and when Mitchell Savage (pictured  far right with West End's Sam Glaves close by) was put clean through he confidently beat the keeper to put Steels back in control of the title race. The picture left sees Adam Todd and Ash Atkins going for the ball, while centre see Spencer Taylor and Lee Shepherd in an arial dual.

Hemsworth Villa’s title chances were blown away by a Yew Tree side that were desperate for points to steer clear of the relegation zone. Yew Tree took the lead when Scott Birch squared the ball for Jack Jones to score and Birch doubled their lead before the break. The second half started with Pete Burgin pulling one back for Villa when he drove home a loose ball in the area, but almost from the kick-off Yew Tree went down the pitch and Mark Woodcock crossed for Birch to restore their two goal lead. Birch then got onto the end of a long clearance by keeper Steven Marshall to complete his hat-trick and although Luke Conway grabbed a second for Villa, their title chances are left in tatters. Action from the game is below.

That win leaves Yew Tree just a point away from safety, but Woodhouse Angel lost their fight to stay in the top flight when they were hammered 6-0 at home by Macron Cup Finalists Civil Service. Just a single Tom Stubbs strike separated the sides in the first half, but the Servants stepped up a gear in the second half and quickly took control. Andy Bath found the top corner before Lee Wild added their third. Sub Wes Bamford then scored with his first touch of the ball before Paul Billard and Danny Campbell completed the rout.

Laycock Sports twice lost the lead before Alex Yule scored a late winner for Hemsworth Villa in midweek, but Laycocks did their chances of avoiding the drop no harm with victory at the weekend at the already relegated Ranch. Laycocks had a bit of luck in the first half when a Lucas Baker corner was turned into his own net by Ranch’s Chris Wajs, but soon after the break Wajs made up for it by crossing for Richard Berry to head an equaliser. Laycocks went all out for the win they needed and they regained the lead when another Baker corner was headed home by Brett Douglas and they sealed the win with an Alex Napier penalty.

Laycocks are now just three points behind Pitsmoor Royal Oak after they crashed at 5-2 home to Handsworth WMC. Tom Crosby and Carl Eaton combined to give Danny Leesley the chance to put Handsworth ahead and Sean Simmonite robbed a defender before advancing to double their lead. Leon Stocks and Gavin Davis both went close for Pitsmoor and Luke Parwana hit a post, but they did eventually pull one back when Stocks crossed for James Ketteringham to head home.

Handsworth reacted quickly though and Crosby set up Chisanga Nshindano to score and after half time and although Craig Graham reduced the arrears a second time, man of the match Nshindano scored his second from the penalty spot after he had been brought down in the area by Lee Percival. A Tom Crosby free kick was then headed home by Eaton to complete the scoring.

Division 1 - Top five all win, but it's the drop for Anston and Handsworth Old Boys  -  The Division One promotion and title race is still in full swing after all the top five won, but for Anston Athletic and Handsworth Old Boys, their defeats confirmed their relegation. Leaders Southey Social had won 4-0 at Malthouse in midweek thanks to four John Mellor strikes and at the weekend they travelled to Anston in confident mood, but they were given a real shock when Alex Mason pounced on a mistake by Andy Guest in the Southey goal to give Anston the lead. Rob Womack briefy levelled for the leaders, but a sweeping move by Anston finished with James Lawton producing as good volley as you are likely to see anywhere.

Southey were read the riot act at the break and although they still weren’t at their best, Chris Roberts produced a great header from a corner to level the scores again and they grabbed a win they scarcely deserved when they were awarded a penalty and Nicky Danks drove the ball home. What made it extra cruel on Anston was that the result confirmed their relegation back to Division Two.

A single Rikki Davidson strike had given second place The Vine victory at Loxley in midweek and at the weekend The Vine took the lead at Brinsworth Whitehill when Davidson scored again from a Craig Woolley flick on, but Brinsworth levelled before half time when Gavin Jones got the final touch after The Vine’s Simon Blackburn had deflected the ball past his own keeper. After the break, The Vine stepped it up and after Josh Connor had hit a post he put his side back in front when he ran on to a Joe France cross. France then hit the woodwork, but The Vine did eventually hit a third when Danny Seaman crossed for Kevin Ford to score.

An Andy Birks double and one from James OConnell saw Redmires get their title bid back on track with a midweek win at Aston Swallownest and they made it two wins a few days with victory at Rivelin. Richard Waga set Shaun Downing up to give Redmires a first half lead and after the break Waga was again the supplier for Dave Knaggs to make the three points certain.

Aston Swallownest recovered from their midweek defeat by Redmires with a 2-0 win at Loxley. Billy Evans beat the offside trap to put Aston ahead and victory was confirmed when Scott McCormack’s cross was headed home by Ryan Hall. Millhouses Thermolast kept their promotion bid going with their fourth win in five games, 1-0 at Handsworth Old Boys. The winner came just as the game was going into added time, with sub Ash Gordon meeting Danny Turner’s cross to score. The result confirmed Handsworth’s relegation back to Division Two.

Division 2 - Bulls Head are up, while Fairbank-Rhodes left sweating -  The first team to gain promotion from Division two is Bulls Head after they completed a midweek 6-0 win over promotion rivals Royal Oak, before winning 3-1 at Chapeltown RBL at the weekend. John Ward started the scoring spree at Royal Oak when he tapped the ball home after the Oak keeper could only parry a shot and Mark Bryant quickly made it two. Nick Ash (pictured right) then added a third from the penalty spot before he scored his second. Lee Smith then headed home before Alan Mowforth completed the rout.

John Ward again opened the scoring at Chapeltown RBL when the ball hit him and flew into the net, but their was no fluke about his second when he knocked home the rebound after the keeper couldn’t hold his first attempt. Declan Carr pulled one back for Chapeltown, but Ash made promotion certain when he headed home his thirty first goal of the season from Lee Smith’s cross.

Second place Fairbank-Rhodes chances of joining them look more precarious after they could only draw at Oughtibridge Village in midweek. After a Lee Smith rocket had given Village the lead, Scott Whittington levelled the scores, but Village were soon back in front when Dan Hill scored. Although Joe Knight earned Fairbank a point with their second equaliser, but they really needed all three points to keep the pressure on the teams below them.

Their two closest challengers met in midweek when Throstles came out on top against Niagara. Oliver West headed Throstles in front and James Stone confirmed the win from the penalty spot after Nick Curtis had been brought down. Throstles then went on to keep in contention when they came from behind to win at Royal Oak. Paul Turner put Oak in front, but two long balls over the top caught the Oak defence on the hop and the first was put away by Mark Grayson before Nick Curtis bagged Throstles’ winner.

In Niagara’s second midweek game, Simon Staniforth and Craig Foster doubles saw Niagara recover from that defeat by Throstles with a 4-1 victory over Junior Blades and they added another three points at the weekend when a single Tom Staniforth strike gave them victory at home against Oughtibridge Village.

Elsewhere, Ben Lee scored four for The Park as they won 6-1 at Crookes & District, while Josh Jones scored twice as Old Blue Ball won 5-1 at Chapeltown RBL in midweek. Ball also took the lead at Highfield Old Crown at the weekend when Callum Chambers scored, but a twenty five yard strike by Gary Wilkins earned Crown a point. Despite a Jake Schofield penalty, Junior Blades suffered their second away defeat in four days when two Gareth Morley strikes and  Jordan Broadbent free kick gave Old Harrow a 3-1 victory

7 Apr  - CBC Premier - Brown strikes to dent West End title bid, but Steels make no mistake -  Two Ben Brown strikes saw Civil Service come from two down to put a dent into Woodhouse West End's title ambitions and West End are now behind Stocksbridge Park Steels on goal difference after they beat local rivals Yew Tree. Dale Fuller played three one-two's before blasting the ball home to give West End the lead and when Nick Hague continued his golden streak in front of goal with West End's second it looked as if their title bid would stay on course, but the second half saw a Ben Brown shot cruelly deflected past his own keeper by Fuller before Brown netted a more conventional equaliser to deny the visitors.

Stocksbridge Park Steels played into a strong wind in the first half against Yew Tree and were perhaps fortunate when their keeper received just a yellow for handling outside the area, but managed to weather the storm. The second half saw them take advantage of the condition to keep Yew Tree pressed back and Steels eventually took the lead with a John Ward header. Adam Todd added a second from the penalty spot and Kevin Davies's diving header meant they had gained revenge for their defeat by their local rivals a couple of weeks ago.

Laycock Sports relegation battle took a blow when a late Alex Yule strike denied them a deserved point at Hemsworth Villa. David Gouge set up Lucas Baker to give Laycock's the lead, but Villa levelled when Ashley Emson played Nick Owen in. A Ryan Collier strike put Laycocks ahead a second time, but Pete Burgin crossed for Alex Yule to equalise. After that Laycocks had a good shout for a penalty turned down and even though Villa hit the woodwork, Yule's late winner for Villa was very cruel on their visitors.

Division 1 - Mellor blast takes Southey back to the top  -  John Mellor hit all Southey's four goals as they won at Malthouse to reclaim top spot, but Redmires still look title favourites after an Andy Birks double helped them to victory at promotion chasing Aston Swallownest. Mellor's first was the only difference between Southey and Malthouse in the first half, but after the break, Southey and Mellor stepped up a gear and he added three more without reply to take Southey back to the top of Division One. Andy Birks finished off a five man move to give Redmires the lead at Aston and full back James O'Connell added a second before the break. Aston struggled to make any impression in the second half and it was no surprise when Mellor added his and his team's fourth.

Division 2 - Staniforth and Foster double act lifts Niagara, but Fairbank held by Village -  Doubles from Simon Staniforth and Craig Foster beat Junior Blades and put Niagara back into the title race, but Fairbank-Rhodes promotion bid was hit when they needed two equalisers to claim just a point at Oughtibridge Village. Staniforth was brought down in the area before picking himself up to give Niagara the perfect start and it got even better when Tom Staniforth and John Shepherd combined to set Craig Foster up to score. Foster then provided a sublime turn and finish to increase Niagara's lead, before Tom Grapes pulled one back, but any thoughts of a late rally were soon quashed when Paul Cadman knocked the ball down for Simon Staniforth to add his second.

A Lee Smith rocket and Dan Hill from a corner twice gave Oughtibridge Village the lead at home against promotion chasing Fairbank-Rhodes, but first Scott Whittington and then Joe Knight netted to give draw Fairbank level. They couldn't get their noses in front though and had to settle for a single point. Josh Jones netted twice as Old Blue Ball won 5-1 at Old Harrow. Cooper, McAndless and OMalley netted The Vines others, while Tom Galley netted Chapeltown's single consolation.

5 Apr - Division 1 - Marshall makes Loxley pay penalty to send The Vine top -  A single Rikki Davidson strike and a penalty save by keeper James Marshall gave The Vine victory at Loxley to go to the top of Division Two. The goal came in the first half when a Jack Heffren cross was met by Josh Connor's shot and although the keeper parried it, Davidson was on hand to bundle the ball home. It looked as if they would lose two points when Brent Healey brought Mick Smith down in the area, but James Marshall (pictured right) pulled off a great save from Smith's spot kick and The Vine held on.

Division 2 - Bulls Head hit Oak for six, but Niagara fall at Throstles -  Nick Ash added two more to his tally as Bulls Head pulled six points clear with victory at Royal Oak, but Niagara fell to goals in each half at promotion rivals Throstles. Bulls Head were in front in five minutes when John Ward was on hand to tap the ball home after a Nick Ash shot was parried by the keeper and Mark Bryant scored for a third consecutive game to double the lead. Ash steered home a penalty for Bull's third and he soon added a fourth. Lee Smith headed home a corner to make it five before the break. Bulls Head took their foot off the pedal in the second half, but they still added a sixth from Alan Mowforth.

That sent Bulls Head six points clear and just one more win short of being promoted and their chances of taking the title received a boost as Throstles beat Niagara. Oliver West was on hand to head home after the keeper could only push out a free kick in the first half and their victory was made certain when Nick Curtis was brought down in the area and James Stone fired home from the spot.

4 Apr - Community help for Hemsworth Villa -  Hemsworth Villa FC has been a long standing part of the local Gleadless Valley community and in recognition of their efforts, Villa was rewarded with a grant towards a new team strip and their seasons fees by Terry Wright chairman of the Gleadless Valley TARA (pictured left). Everyone at the club is very grateful for the Tenants Association's support, which will enable the club in to continue to fly the flag for the estate. Villa's progress can now also be followed on www.hemsworthvillafc.webs .com

3 Apr - CBC Premier - West End show set for record, but Ranch go down -  While all their title rivals were dropping points, current champions Woodhouse West End got over the disappointment of the previous weekend’s Macron Cup semi final defeat by winning at Pitsmoor Royal Oak to put themselves in line for a record fifth successive title.

West End got off to the perfect start as skipper Dale Fuller volleyed them into a first minute lead and, before the break, man of the match Damon Blakemore (pictured right) doubled their lead with a terrific solo run and finish. Pitsmoor’s chances of getting back into the game suffered a blow at half time when James Thew had to take over from their injured keeper and another solo goal, this time from veteran striker Spencer Taylor increased West End’s lead before Scott Spzajer netted a consolation for the home side.

Leaders Ecclesfield 147’s chances of holding on to top spot look to have gone after they could only pick up one point from their final two games. They first went to one of their main challengers, Stocksbridge Park Steels and a rare mistake by keeper Frazer Hartley handed Andy Horsfall an easy opener for Steels. 147 fought back to level with a Liam Wilkinson strike and with the wind at their backs in the second half they looked favourites to take all three points, but Steels defence coped well with the pressure and when Tom Jowitt bent a free kick round the wall, the points went to the home side instead.

Ecclesfield final game at Handsworth WMC got off to an explosive start with all the game’s six goals coming in the first twenty minutes. In the first minute, Andy Stevens fed Tom Smith and after he beat the full back he crossed for Tom Crosby to give Handsworth the lead, but 147 were soon level when Jayson Reeves stabbed home the rebound from a shot the keeper couldn’t hold. Handsworth were quickly back in front though as Robert Pratt gave Kieran Gallagher the sort of chance he rarely misses and they doubled that lead when a Stevens corner came off the bar for Carl Bowler to tap in.

Craig Senior took a Ryan Keeney pass in his stride to reduce the arrears and they levelled when Liam Wilkinson headed home from a Sheridan Bagshaw corner. After that both sides went close and both keepers were called upon to make terrific saves, but neither side could find the net again and so Ecclesfield now have to sit and wait to see if the rest can catch them.

Stocksbridge Park Steels chances weren’t helped when they needed a late goal to rescue a point at home to Stannington Village. Stannington are also in the title hunt and took the lead when Dean Jepson swivelled to hit home from a Sean Flynn corner and it looked like they would take the points until a short corner routine just two minutes from time led to Kevin Davies crossing for Adam Todd to head home (pictures left) to leave both club’s cursing two dropped points.

At the other end of the table, after a home defeat by Civil Service, Ranch are relegated after just a season in the top flight. Wes Bamford gave Service the lead and Danny Fowler quickly doubled it. It soon became three when Fowler hit a real screamer after chesting the ball down thirty yards from goal and although Ranch did better in the second half they conceded a fourth from Paul Billard.

Despite falling behind to an early Ryan Cockayne goal for visitors Yew Tree, Laycock Sports stormed back with six goals to give themselves a chance of avoiding the drop. Ryan Collier and Alex Napier had Laycock’s in front before half time and in the second half a Sam Read double and further goals from Lucas Baker and Stavros Kontou completed a much needed win that also pulls Yew Tree into the relegation battle. The Division One title and promotion race now has five clubs separated by just three points. Redmires had won all their previous ten games and had the chance to go top when they travelled to Millhouses Thermolast in midweek, but their record ended when Sam Barthram’s shot was deflected past his own keeper by Tom Hannaway for the game’s only goal.

That was quickly followed by Redmires first home defeat as The Vine  took home all three points to go second in the table. A James Kirkham error allowed Will Blakeney to thread a ball through for Rikki Davidson to give The Vine a tenth minute lead and after Craig Wolley had gone close to hitting a second, Danny Seaman outpaced the Redmires defence to clinch it ten minutes from time.

Leaders Southey Social failed to take advantage as they became Millhouses Thermolast’s second big scalp in a week. Simon Jebson gave Southey a first half lead with a low finish, but Millhouses stormed back after the break and Adam Sturch’s cross was turned into his own goal by David Moore for their equaliser. Danny Turner then grabbed two and Geoff Belk produced a sublime finish for their fourth. Southey pulled one back through John Mellor, but their cause was lost by this stage.

Aston Swallownest could have gone top and it looked good for them when David Sills finished Ryan Hall’s cross after a five man move to give them the lead. Loxley had other ideas though and Anthony Marshall headed an equaliser from Steve Kelly’s cross. Loxley’s power in the air continued to give the home defence problems and it was no surprise when Geoff Mayfield headed them into a lead they look set to keep until Nathan Warren took advantage of a bobble induced error by the keeper to rescue a point for Aston.

At the other end of the table, Handsworth Old Boys are as good as relegated after they let a two goal lead slip before being hit for six by Rivelin. Mario Esposito and Tom Houghton strikes gave the early advantage to Handsworth, but Scott Smith pulled one back before half time to breath new life into the home side. Danny Robinson drew the sides level after the break before Tom Bermingham (pictured right) plundered a hat-trick and Lew Nicholson completed the scoring with the home side’s sixth.

Brinsworth Whitehill are beginning to look over their shoulders after they slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Malthouse. After conceding too many goals of late Malthouse manager Neil Whitworth included himself back in the side and the move worked in a solid defensive show allowed the forwards to do the damage this time. Karl Fox hit one in the first half and Paul Smith took advantage of an error by the keeper to make it two in the second half.

Bulls Head took over at the top of Division Two by ending title rivals Niagara's unbeaten record. Just a single goal five minutes before the break settled the game, when the Niagara keeper misjudged a back pass and Mark Bryant nipped in to score the decisive goal. Bulls Head followed then opened up a gap at the top with a seven goal victory over bottom club Crookes & District, with Bryant again on target with two, but he was outscored by four from Nick Ash.

Niagara are still in with a shout though as a Simon Staniforth double helped them to a midweek 4-1 victory at Highfieeld Old Crown and a 3-0 victory at promotion rivals Royal Oak. The game at Oak was much closer than the score suggests and had Oak shown the type of clinical finishing that Niagara produced, they might well have got something from the game. Ben Dronfield gave Niagara an early lead and after the break, Danny Bainbridge's deflected shot looped over the keeper for number two. He then took advantage of a mix-up in the Oak defence to hit Niagara's third.

Throstles promotion bid took a big dent when they slipped up at home to lowly Old Blue Ball. It took just ten seconds for Callum Chambers to outpace the Throstles defence and give ball the lead and he was to prove a thorn in their side all the game. Joe Lawson levelled for Throstles, but Rees McAndless restored Ball's lead with a shot into the top corner and Chambers out paced the home defence yet again to add number three. Daniel Bonnick pulled one back with just two minutes remaining, but it proved to be too little too late. Throstles got their challenge back on track at the weekend though as an own goal and a Mark Grayson double gave them a 3-0 victory at injury hit Oughtibridge Village.

That defeat brought Oughtibridge's mini revival to an end. They had won 4-1 at The Park in midweek to make it four games unbeaten, with Ryan Campbell hitting three of them to take his tally to five in two games. Lee Smith hit the other while Lee Bridges netted The Park's consolation. The Park did better at the weekend though when Iain Martin's goal past an unsighted keeper gave them the lead at Junior Blades. The Blades earned themselves a point though when Jake Schofield cut in and just beat the keeper. Action from the game below.

Old Blue Ball's topsy turvy form continued when they lost at home to Highfield Old Crown. McAndless gave them the lead, but a Gary Wilkins strike and a Rees Betts penalty put Crown in front and even though Ball briefly levelled with a second from McAndless, Crown took it when Daniel Stanton bent a free kick round the wall.
