19 MAY – Chris Belshaw tops the Goalscoring table – After all games have been completed, Division One Colley's Chris Belshaw (pictured left) is the League's Leading Scorer with 25 goals. The CBC Premier's top scorer is Stannington Village's Jack Haslam with 15 goals and Division Two's top marksman is Daniel Beech with 10 goals.

19 MAY – Season completed – All games have now been completed and the final League table is now shown. It shows which teams are promoted automatically.

15 MAY – CBC PREMIER – Pheasant climb a place as Handsworth bow out with defeat – Wadsley Bbridge Pheasant climbed to 9th in the table after beating Handsworth Everest Inn 5-1 in Handsworth's final game. Afer Jordan Stocks had seen his early penalty saved by the Handsworth keeper, an own goal gave Pheasant the lead and soon after Connor Platts doubled it. Carlton Carty made it three before half-time with his sixth of the season and after the break bith Platts and Carty added to their tally before Liam Greenfiwld scored a late consolation for Everest.

10 MAY – CBC PREMIER – Joker take the title after Pheasant 'No-show' – The CBC Premier title finally went Joker Wickersley Youth's way after Wadsley Bridge Pheasant was unable to field a team to play their game against them. This meant that Joker Wickersley Youth was awarded a 3-0 victory and with it the title. Obviously this was not the way that the League wanted the title to be decided and neither Pheasant nor Joker wanted it to end this way, but injuries meant Pheasant just couldn't get enough players for the game. The trophy was awarded to Joker Wickersley Youth CC at their Wickersley Old Village Cricket Club home. Pheasnt will now finish in the bottom three, although with 2 games still to play they could still climb one place to 9th. They are scheduled to play one of those games at Handsworth Everest Inn on Sunday 15 May and their final game against Royal Earl is provisionally set for Thursday 19 May.

8 MAY – CBC PREMIER – Stannington end their season on top, but now must wait for Joker – A Shaun Flynn (pictured left) double helped Stannington Village complete their season with a victory over Wadsley Bridge Pheasant that put them on top of the table. Stannington took the lead when a Luca DeFalco cross allowed Shaun Flynn to tap in at the back post and they doubled their lead when a ball into the box allowed DeFalco to cut inside and side-foot into the bottom corner. After the break, Stannington’s third came when a ball from DeFalco allowed Jon Wall to finish well into the bottom corner and Wall claimed the assist when his through ball allowed Jack Haslam to finish. Statham in the Pheasant goal saved a penalty, but a fifth came soon after when DeFalco’s mazy run saw him square the ball for Shaun Flynn to tap in. Pheasant’s Carlton Carty completed the scoring, but it was little consolation.

Stannington now have to wait to see if Pheasant can stop Joker Wickersley winning their final game of the season on Tuesday. Victory for Joker Wickersley would see them take the title for the first time and complete a League and Cup double, but anything less would see Stannington crowned Champions for a record 7th time. Pheasant will be desperate to avoid defeat though as they need at least seven points from their last three games to get out of the bottom three

8 MAY – DIVISION 1 – Matt's last gasp finish wins the title for Inter – Matt Darlow scored with virtually the last touch of the game to give FC Inter (pictured right with the Div 1 title trophy) the victory at Sheffield Sixs that Inter needed to add the Division One title to the Sunday Junior Cup they won in April. Inter took the lead on 20 mins when Jordan Beech headed home from a corner, but Sixs deservedly levelled when Ross Lamkin rounded the keeper before half-time. After the break it was Sixs that piled on the pressure, but missed chances and good defending kept the scores level. Inter, who were unbeaten and had been top all season, knew that they needed a winner to stop Boynton Sports pinching the title off them had one last push in the final few seconds and Darlow got the final touch to a ball into the box to give Inter the win they needed.

If Darlow hadn't scored that late winner the title would have gone to Boynton Sports after they completed their away games with a 5-3 victory at Eckington. Roan Heeley’s header was diverted into his own goal by a defender to give Boynton the lead and they doubled it when Ethan Wilkinson seized on a mistake by the keeper, but Eckington got themselves back into the game in the before half-time when Harry Bell held the ball up before spinning to strike the ball into the bottom corner. Boynton got on top after the break and increased their lead with a Kurtis Cockburn strike. Wilkinson grabbed his second from the edge of the area and when the keeper saved another of his efforts Richie Atkins followed up to make it five. Eckington grabbed a goal back in the 75th minute when a great strike from Pat Stothard flew into the top corner and they got a final consolation goal in the final minute. With the boxed filled with the entire Eckington 11, a corner was bundled home by Joe Harris.

Todd Guest and Brandon Whitfield both scored twice and Elliot Fox once as Southey Social secured their Division One status with a 5-1 victory over a Cotts FC. Alex Calton netted for Cotts, but they are now doomed to the drop unless Intake Old Boys lose their final game by four or more goals in their final game of the season at Boynton Sports. Intake put themselves in that position as two Elliott Coles strikes helped them to a 4-0 victory at already relegated Wadsley Jack Athletic. Coles and Dan White gave Intake a two goal lead at the break, before second half goals from Coles and Reece Treasure completed the win they needed.

6 MAY – LEAGUE TWENTYTWO CUP – Lee-Green strike gives Joker Wickersley the Cup – This season’s League Twentytwo Cup Final played at Sheffield FC’s stadium at Dronfield saw Royal Earl lose their grip on the trophy when a late Kris Lee-Green (pictured right) deflected shot won the cup for Joker Wickersley Youth CC. A minute's silence was held before the game for former Royal Earl player Danny Campbell who had suddenly passed away during the season

A good hard fought game saw Earl on top for the first 25 minutes, with Johno Williams hitting the outside of a post and Alex Rippon force a good save from Joker keeper Jamie Bailey. As Joker came into the game, Liam O’Brien went close before a Joe Austin header was cleared near the line and a Lee-Green effort brilliantly tipped over by Earl keeper Jake Askew.

There was a lot of endeavour in the second half, but with the defences giving nothing away the game was always in the balance. Skipper Michael Towey was a towering presence for Earl and he never put a foot wrong at the back. Sam Smith was also prominent, whilst Richard Tootle was a constant threat down the left. Man of the match Nathan Taylor kept Joker’s midfield ticking over and drove them on, and Danny Swales and Joe Austin were outstanding in a solid defence, and their work was rewarded when Joker Wickersley got the break after 81 minutes when a swift break saw Lee-Green fire in a shot that took a wicked deflection past the stranded keeper.

Referee: Adam Burgess, Assistants: Carl Gibson and Dan Laugharne, 4th Official: John Reeves

It was Joker Wickersley that lifted the trophy for the first time and Nathan Taylor that took the Man of the Match Award. The trophies and medals were presented by Sheffield United’s Super Draw Lotto manager Pete Stone together with League Chairman Keith Firminger. More pictures from the game are below:

6 MAY – LEAGUE TWENTYTWO CUP – League Twentytwo Cup Final set for Friday 6 May – This season’s League Twentytwo Cup Final will take place on Friday 6 May at Sheffield FC’s stadium at Dronfield when holder’s Royal Earl will take on Joker Wickersley Youth CC. The kick-off will be at 7:30 and entrance for £5 for adults and includes a free programme, and entrance for children under 16 is free.

5 MAY – CBC PREMIER – Civil are safe, but Pheasant stay in trouble – Civil Sports gained a 2-1 win at fellow strugglers Wadsley Bridge Pheasant to ensure that they won't finish in the bottom three, but Pheasant remain in big trouble and now need at least seven points from their last four games and two of those are against the top two. Afer Pheasant had missed some good early chances, it was Civil that took the lead when they took advantage of a mistake by the defence and the keeper. Pheasant hit back and Connor Platts levelled the scores, but another bad mistake allowed Civil to go back in front by the break. The second half saw Pheasant miss chance after chance and Civil managed to hold on to the three points that put them safe.

5 MAY – DIVISION 1 – Cotts almost Shaw of safety after thrashing South – Callum Shaw hit a hat-trick as Cotts took a big step towards safety with a stunning 8-0 victory over Sheffield South. Chris Salt and Alex Calton both netted twice and Harry Radford the other as Cotts ran riot against an understrength Sheffield South.

1 MAY – CBC PREMIER – Stannington keep up the title chase – Stannington Village maintained their chase for the title as Lee Johnstone and Charlie Hobson doubles helped them to a comfortable victory over Oughtibridge WM. Stannington went ahead when Harrison Case’s corner was headed home at the back post by Lee Johnstone (pictured right) and another Case cross allowed Johnstone to side-foot home to double the lead. Charlie Hobson smashed the ball into the bottom corner for a third, before Harry Coy pulled one back for Oughtibridge. Stannington regained control when Kosi Nwobi’s cross was headed home by Luca DeFalco and Hobson completed the scoring with a penalty after Arnie Grayson had been fouled in the area.

1 MAY – DIVISION 1 – Inter held on the title brink as Boynton and Sixs celebrate promotion – Division One leaders FC Inter failed to get the victory that would have seen them crowned champions when they were held 1-1 by Southey Social. It looked good for Inter when Ben Southwell scored his third goal of the week to put them ahead, but Southey refused to roll over and deservedly equalised with a Brandon Whitfield goal. It means Inter must win their final game of the season at Sheffield Sixs. Anything less than a victory for Inter will allow Boynton Sports to pip them to the title

Sixs will be in a happy mood though as they secured promotion as a Brad Howe (pictured left) double gave them a hard earned 2-2 draw at Eckington. Both teams had chances early on, but it was Sixs that struck first through Howe and although Sixs later hit a post, it was the only goal of the first half. Sixs started the second half looking likely to extend their lead, but Eckington eventually grew into the game and levelled when Ethan Flower’s strike from 25 yards flew into the top corner. It went from bad to worse for Sixs when Alistair Haydock scored another long range effort to put Eckington ahead, but Howe’s second of the game gave Sixs the point they needed to secure promotion.

Boynton Sports title hopes looked to be going down the drain when they found themselves two goals down at Wadsley Jack Athletic, but Boynton hit back to a comfortable 6-2 win that also secured their promotion to the top flight. Wadsley went ahead with a Leon Dearns penalty and shook Boynton by doubling it with a Harry Ancell header. Boynton got themselves back into the game with a Ross Thompson strike and equalised before half-time with an Ethan Wilkinson volley against his old club. After the break, sustained pressure led to Isaac Reardon putting Boynton ahead and an own goal extended their lead. As Wadsley tired, Boynton extended their lead with a Curtis Priday goal and completed the scoring with a Roan Heeley strike. The result means that Wadsley Jack are reegated.

28 APRIL – ROTHERHAM CHARITY CUP – Joker blown over by a Feather in the Rotherham Charity Cup – Joker Wickersley Youth CC were beaten 5-2 in the Rotherham Charity Cup Final at Rotherham United's New York Stadium but the result didn't really reflect how close a game it was. A mistake at the back and a poorly positioned wall allowed Feathers to take a two goal lead at half time and when they added a third from the penalty spot it looked all over, but Adam Daughtrey (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7r4GgPP8PM ) pulled one back with a terrific shot and soon after Brad Morton headed a second. It was now all Joker, but as they threw men forward and the game went into 5 minutes of added time Feathers twice broke quickly to clinch the final with two quality finishes.

28 APRIL – CBC PREMIER – Civil still not safe after draw with Oughtibridge – Civil Sports gained a point from a thrilling 4-4 draw with Oughtibridge WM, but Civil can still be caught by all but two of the teams below them. Harry Coy gave Oughtibridge the lead, but after that it was a game that could have gone either way, with Charlie Cope, an Adam Thomas penalty and Ollie Black netting Oughtibridge’s others and Nana, Hanson, Gordon-Hides, and Evans giving Civil their point.

28 APRIL – DIVISION 1 – Inter on the brink as South hold Boynton – Division One leaders FC Inter will be crowned champions on Sunday if they win at Southey Social after beating a Sheffield Sixs that were second in the table 2-1, a result that means Sixs still need a point to secure promotion. . A physical fast start saw the deadlock broken when a misunderstanding by keeper and defender allowed Ben Southwell to walk the ball into the net to give Inter a half-time lead. A terrific solo goal by Southwell soon after the break doubled Inter’s lead, but Sixs pressed hard and Aaron Buck reduced the arrears, but they couldn’t break through again.

Even a draw for Inter in their final game will be sufficient if Boynton Sports fail to win at Wadsley Jack Athletic after Boynton were held to a 2-2 draw by promotion chasing Sheffield South. Boynton led by a Curtis Priday goal at the break and Priday doubled their lead soon afterwards, but Harry Pollard and Tom Davis strikes gave South the point they needed to stay in the promotion race, although South must win their final game at Cotts next Thursday and hope that Sheffield Sixs lose both their final two games against Inter and Eckington.

Wadsley Jack Athletic gave themselves a slight chance of avoiding the drop with a 2-1 victory at a Brinsworth Phoenix that now needs both Intake Old Boys and Cotts to lose their final two games to have any hopes of avoiding the drop avoid the drop. George Scott gave Wadsley the lead with a volley from the edge of the box, but Dan Commander equalised just before half-time. Reece Hawkes then won and scored a penalty to put Wadsley back in front and although Phoenix pushed hard for another equaliser, Wadsley held on. Wadsley now also must rely on the clubs above them losing their remaining games and winning their last two against Boynton Sports and Intake Old Boys

24 APRIL – SUNDAY JUNIOR CUP – Inter edge it over Boynton – FC Inter and Boynton Sports contested an all-Blades Super Draw Final of the Sunday Junior Cup at Doncaster Rovers Eco Stadium and it was Inter that came out on top 2-1 thanks to a catastrophic own goal. Most of the early stages were played in midfield, with set-pieces looking the most likely to create something and that how it proved when Inter went in front. A Lewis Whitaker corner led to a scramble in the Boynton goalmouth and Jordan Beech took full advantage to put Inter ahead. Undaunted by that setback, Boynton began to look the more likely and Ethan Wilkinson saw his shot deflected over the Inter bar and soon after Inter keeper Thomas Brightmore made a terrific save to tip a Kurt Cockburn shot over. Marc Peacock then had a shot deflected wide and just before the break Curtis Priday hit the post.

After the break it was Boynton that continued to dominate so it was no surprise when a scramble in the box led to Marc Peacock getting the final touch to equalise. Boynton then looked the more likely winners, but in a quick break a cross into the Boynton area led to Ben Jordan heading the ball over his own keeper to put Inter back in front. Boynton pressed for a second equaliser, but the Inter defence and keeper Brightmore proved up to anything thrown at them and Inter held on to win the cup for a second time.

24 APRIL – SUNDAY SENIOR CUP – Pheasant pipped at the post – Wadsley Bridge Pheasant’s attempt to become the first Blades Super Draw League side to win the Sunday Senior Cup fell just short as they were pipped at the post 1-0 by Doncaster’s Scawthorpe Athletic at the Doncaster Rovers Eco Power Stadium. A tight first half where neither side was able to dominate saw Pheasant go close when Adam Askwith put the ball wide when presented with the best chance of the half. Jordan Stocks then struck a post with a free kick, but the sides went in level at the break. The second half continued in the same way, but it needed the Pheasant keeper to make a save to keep his side level. That was until midway through the half when a quick break saw the ball played to the right and the Scawthorpe player cut inside before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net. After that Pheasant kept pushing forward and both Askwith and Danny Reet had half chances to level, but it was Stocks that again came closest when his free kick beat the keeper, but again it was the post that rescued Scawthorpe. After that despite Pheasant pushing as hard as they could it was Scawthorpe that held on to become the first Doncaster side to lift the trophy.

24 APRIL – CBC PREMIER – Norton put Joker celebrations on hold – Joker Wickersley Youth knew that a victory against Norton Sportsman would give them their first ever CBC Premier title, but any celebrations had to be put on hold as Norton held them to a draw. Joker made a quick start and after Kris Lee-Green’s shot was deflected over, Adam Daughtrey broke through for a one on one which saw the in-form Sportsman keeper Joe Taylor save the shot. Kallum Nix then shot inches wide. Norton was also having chances of their own and eventually opened the scoring through a good finish from Oli Scott.

Joker reacted and Taylor had to save shots from both Alex Hardwick and Liam O’Brien, before tipping a Daughtrey header over when a goal looked certain. Joker continued to press after the break and Lee-Green went close with a shot from distance, but they didn’t have to wait too long for an equaliser when Alex Elwell cross into the box for Nathan Taylor (pictured left) powerfully head home. Norton were reduced to ten men soon after, but they continued to defend as if their lives depended on it. Ben Thornton’s shot towards an empty net somehow managed to go over the bar and further efforts and chances were squandered by Joker so Norton held on. It means that Joker must win their final game of the season against Sunday Senior Cup finalists Wadsley Bridge Pheasant to be certain of taking the title as a draw for Joker in their final game would enable Stannington Village to pip them on goal difference if they win their final two games.

A defeat for Joker in their final game would also allow second place Royal Earl to overtake them after they beat Civil Sports 5-1. After a goalless first half, Earl upped the tempo and scored within three minutes of the re-start. After a scramble in the area, the ball fell to Matt Morton who struck a great volley from 18 yards. He then doubled his and Earl’s tally by taking the ball round the keeper to score. Joe Pearson made it three before Gary Eades got a goal back for Civil, but any thoughts of a comeback were quickly dispelled when Pearson grabbed his second of the game and Earl legend Ryan Hindley netted a fifth.

Oughtibridge WM secured their place in the CBC Premier next season after a Matt Cowen strike gave them victory over the already relegated Dronfield. A Jordan Holland cross gave Cowen the chance to head the winner and had it not been for the Dronfield keeper the margin of victory would have been much more

24 APRIL – DIVISION 2 – Beech goes nuts as Lion roar to the Runners-up spot Dan Beech scored four and Jamie Jones one as Red Lion roared to the Runners-up spot in Division Two with a 5-3 victory at Beighton Magpies. Despite a Liam Milne strike for Beighton, Lion led 4-1 at the break, but Beighton showed they weren’t going to roll over and two Matt Dickinson goals put them right back into it until a late penalty allowed Lion to breath more easily. The Lion players are seen with the trophy and medals outside the Red Lion.

As it turned out they didn’t need the win as the only team that could overtake them, Brinsworth Whitehill, fell to a 3-0 defeat at Mosborough Reds. Reds skipper Jak Hotchin gave his side the lead with a penalty and Gaz Coddington doubled it before half time. The third came late in the game when Jack Turner found the bottom corner with a great finish. Despite their defeat Brinsworth will still be promoted.

24 APRIL – DIVISION 1 – Sixs just one win away from promotion, but Davis keeps South in the hunt – With Division One’s top two playing in the Sunday Junior Cup Final, Sheffield Sixs took full advantage to go second by narrowly beating Southey Social 3-2. Sixs went ahead midway through the first half when Ross Lamkin guided a cross home first time, but Jack Appleyard pounced on a scramble in the box to level the scores for half-time. Sixers regained the lead when their second half pressure finally told when Brad Howe got his first goal back after injury by turning home Aaron Buck’s square pass and soon after the roles were reversed as Howe set up Buck to dink over the oncoming keeper. Southey didn’t give up though and after Brandon Whitfield’s shot took a big deflection past the Sixs keeper it set up a nervy finish, but sixers defended well to keep all three points

Sheffield South kept up the pressure though as a Tom Davis (pictured left) hat-trick helped them to come from two goals down to beat Colley 5-3. Colley made the worst possible start and conceded a penalty in the first minute that Davis put away, but Colley levelled when South’s keeper hesitated and Steve Dickinson nicked the ball to stroke it home. The League’s leading scorer Chris Belshaw then turned two defenders in the box to put Colley ahead and he grabbed his second when a quick break allowed him to place the ball into the bottom corner. South were given a lifeline on the stroke of when Davis scored his second with a free kick and five minutes after the break South drew level with Davis’s third. Colley tired in the last 20 minutes and South took control to win it with one from Smith and an own goal.

Eckington’s promotion chances were ended though as they were held to a goalless draw by relegation threatened Cotts, a result that still leaves Cotts in danger of relegation. Brinsworth Phoenix gave themselves a chance of avoiding the drop with a narrow 3-2 win over New Bohemians. Phoenix took the lead with a spectacular own goal by Bohemians Lewis Currie and Joe Statham got his name on the scoresheet with a towering header to double Phoenix’s lead. Bohemians started the second half well when Dale Jones cut in from the left to rifle into into the top corner and they equalised when Zach Burns swung a free kick in which evaded everyone to go in at the back post. However it was Phoenix who nicked the three points when good link up play between Jake Slaughter and John Mellor allowed Dan Commander to hit a left foot shot past the keeper with the help of a deflection off Will Butcher. Despite their defeat, results elsewhere meant that Bohemians are now safe for another season.

21 APRIL – CBC PREMIER – Oughtibridge see off Crookes to ease relegation fears – First half goals by Adam Thomas and Matt Cowen (pictured right), against his old club, gave Oughtibridge WM a 2-0 victory to move two places up the table and give themselves a better chance of avoiding the drop.

21 APRIL – DIVISION 1 – Sixs need two more wins to seal third place at least – Sheffield Sixers won 4-2 at Cotts to put themselves within two wins of making sure they finish no lower than third. Harry Buxton turned the ball home when Ross Lamkin's shot rebounded to him, but Ryan Simmonite levelled the scores before half-time. A Lamkin penalty put Sixs back in front after the break, but it was again cancelled out by Michael Blythen. Danny Barnsley beat a defender before curling the ball home from the edge of the area to put Sixs back in front and this time they made certain of victory when Lamkin pounced on a loose ball to net his second. The result left Cotts in the bottom three, but with a game in hand on the club above them.

Sheffield South kept up the chase as a Ben Bertram hat-trick helped them to a 5-1 victory over a Brinsworth Phoenix looking ever more certain to be relegated. Tom Davis and Harry Pollard netted South's others and Phoenix's Jack Hawkes replied with his 13th of the season. New Bohemians missed the chance to make sure they wouldn't be relegated when they lost 3-2 to the almost relegated Wadsley Jack Athletic. After Bohemians had failed to take their early chances, Joel Clarke hit a spectacular opener for Wadsley and just before half-time Sonny MacDonald doubled their lead. Soon after the break Reece James made it three and although Jake Nicholson scored twice to give Bohemians hope, Wadsley held on for their third win of the season.

20 APRIL – CBC PREMIER – Earl go second – Royal Earl went second in the table with a 2-0 victory at Civil Sports. Chris Wood's flick on allowed Matt Morton to score in off the bar and Harry Bamforth secured the points for Earl with a terrific diving header from a Richard Tootle cross.

20 APRIL – DIVISION 1 – Ryan keeps Eckington in the promotion race – Eckington kept themselves in the Division One promotion race as an Owen Ryan strike proved to be the game's only goal against Intake Old Boys. Both keepers made good saves to keep the game goalless at the break, but Ryan's goal midway through the second half proved decisive.

19 APRIL – DIVISION 1 –
Read and Whitaker doubles keep Inter top – Division One leaders extended the gap at the top to eight points as doubles by Sam Read and Lewis Whitaker gave them a 4-1 victory over Colley. They both scored a goal in each half before Colley replied with a late Chris Belshaw penalty.

17 APRIL – DIVISION 2 – Chapeltown RBL take the title Chapeltown RBL beat title rivals Brinsworth Whitehill to ensure they took their first ever title. Jed Phillips scored twice as Chapeltown got the result they needed to take the Division 2 title and give the hard work put in by Adam Todd and, in particular, Dave Adams a long overdue reward.

Chapeltown took the lead when Niall Smith found space down the left and crossed for Jed Phillips to head home and they had good chances to extend the lead but missed the target from close range. Those misses looked to be costly when they were pegged back. Keeper James Birch made a great save only for the rebound to be poked home by Joe McGuiness to send the teams in level at the break. Legion started the second half well and when Mitch Savage nodded down on the edge of the area, Phillips hit his second from 25 yards into the bottom corner. They extended their lead when good work down the right ended with Denham Saxton finding top scorer Mitch Savage to hit first time from the edge of the area. Any thoughts of a comeback were snuffed out when Phillips found Niall Smith in the area and he slammed the ball into the roof of the net to confirm Legion’s first ever title. The League's Mike Stylianou, with the help of St George's Park, Thorncliffe's Becky Powell was on hand to present the trophy and medals.

17 APRIL – CBC PREMIER – Stannington and Earl keep up the chase, but Joker stay out in front – Charlie Hobson and Luca DeFalco both scored twice as Stannington Village thumped Norton Sportsman 7-2 to stay in the title race. Stannington took the lead with a Charlie Hobson penalty after Jon Wall had sent Shaun Flynn away and he was fouled from behind in the box. They doubled their lead when a shot by Jack Haslam (pictured right) from just inside the box flew into the far corner and they grabbed a third with the goal of the game. A lovely interchange of passes found Wall on the edge of the box and he played a 1–2 with Luca DeFalco before squaring it for Flynn to tap home. Norton debutant Thompson Cartledge pulled one back before half time, but any thoughts of a comeback were quickly dismissed after the break.

DeFalco was played in and he hit it first time into the opposite corner and DeFalco then grabbed his second when he cut inside the defender and smashed it into the far opposite corner. A sixth came when a short corner by Wall allowed Charlie Hobson to finish left footed into the far corner and Stannington’s seventh came when Jack Holmes played a 1-2 at the edge of the box before slipping it neatly past the keeper. Although Cartledge grabbed a second for the home side they were never really in the game.

Royal Earl also kept their title hopes alive by winning 3-2 at AFC Dronfield to keep the title chase alive. Earl’s Steve Brammer opened the scoring after a neat Johno Williams pull back and after Dronfield’s Adam Beresford squandered the chance to equalise with a penalty, Matt Morton doubled Earl’s lead with a tap in after a scramble in the box. Connor Chapell made it three from the penalty spot to seemingly put Earl in control, but Dronfield pulled one back when they were awarded a second penalty that was this time put away by Will Hunter from the penalty spot. Soon after Dronfield’s Alex Pursehouse scored their second from the edge of the area to set up a nervy finish, but Earl held on. Joker remained seven points clear though after they were awarded the points after their opponents Civil Sports failed to raise a team for their game.

Oughtibridge WM boosted their survival hopes when a late Adam Thomas penalty earned them a 2-2 draw at Crookes. The home side went ahead midway through the first half with a stunning Michael Vella strike, but Oughtibridge levelled when Matt Cowen scored against his old side. Daniel Flynn restored Crookes’ lead soon after the break, but Thomas’s late penalty gave Oughtibridge a point.

17 APRIL – DIVISION 1 – Top two stalemate, while Cotts give their survival hopes a boost – Division One’s top two of FC Inter and Boynton Sports drew 2-2 with each other to keep the title race alive. Normal centre half Dave Young had to deputise in goal for Inter and he was soon beaten as Nathan Davies gave Boynton the lead, but Inter levelled with a Russ Westby header. Just before half-time Inter lost their captain Chris Lees with a leg injury, but they pressed on after the break and a great solo goal from Ben Southwell gave them the lead. Boynton hit back quickly through their leading scorer Ethan Wilkinson (pictured left) and after Lee Jordan missed a chance to put Boynton back in front, Davies saw his effort tipped over the bar by Young to earn Inter a deserved draw that keeps them in the title driving seat. The two sides meet again next weekend in the final of the Sunday Junior Cup at the Doncaster Rovers Stadium, with a 12 noon kick-off.

Inter are already promoted and Boynton are possibly just one more win away from joining them, and Sheffield Sixs look favourites to go up with them after a 3-0 victory over New Bohemians. After a goalless first half, Sixs stepped up a gear and strikes from Aaron Buck, Harry Buxton and Connor McMain’s blockbuster gave them the points.

Sheffield South continue to chase them though and a 5-1 victory at Brinsworth Phoenix kept them just four points behind. Strikes from Phillips, Marven, Arrian and a Bertram double meant Jack Hawkes 12th of the season for Phoenix was their only consolation. Eckington also stayed in the promotion race as a second half header gave them a 1-0 victory over Colley that now look to be out of the race

Two Chris Salt strikes helped Cotts to a narrow 3-2 victory at Wadsley Jack Athletic to give Cotts hopes of avoiding the drop a boost. Salt opened the scoring by converting a low cross, but Jack levelled with a Reece James strike. Michael Blythen’s quick free kick put Cotts back in front and Salt extended their lead with a penalty. Brad Worsfold also scored a penalty for Jack, but it was in the dying seconds of the game.

14 APRIL – CBC PREMIER – Earl title challenge pit in the Stocks – Royal Earl’s title challenge suffered a big blow when relegation threatened Wadsley Bridge Pheasant held them to a 2-2 draw with a late Jordan Stocks penalty. George Rudd gave Pheasant the lead, but Sam Smith’s header put Earl level by the break. Conor Chappel gave Earl the lead with a penalty soon after the break, but Earl’s title hopes were hit with Stocks late penalty for Pheasant.

Pheasant’s relegation rivals AFC Dronfield thought they had earned a point at Crookes until a late, late strike by Pete Smith gave Crookes victory. Andrew Fox had given Crookes a half-time lead, but after the break Tim Pitt’s tenth goal of the season looked to have earned Dronfield a point until Smith’s late strike.

14 APRIL – DIVISION 1 – Top two win again – Division One leaders FC Inter had a late goal from Sam Read to give them a 1-0 win at Intake Old Boys, but second place Boynton Sports kept pace with them as Curtis Priday hat-trick helped them to a 7-1 victory over Cotts FC. After Priday had opened the scoring, Chris Salt drew Cotts level just before half-time and there was little in it for an hour, but the game changed when Ross Thompson came off the bench and as Cotts tired the goals began to flow with Ethan Wilkinson, two more from Priday, Jake Gamban, Roan Heeley and Isaac Reardon all finding the net.

Brinsworth Phoenix gave their relegation hopes a boost as Jack Hawkes netted twice in their 3-2 victory at bottom club Wadsley Jack Athletic. George Scott gave Wadsley the lead, but Hawkes goals either side of half-time put Phoenix in front. A Brad Worsfold penalty brought the teams level until Mark Thornton won it for Phoenix with the last kick of the game.

14 APRIL – DIVISION 2 – Cory leads Whitehill to a Goodwin over Beighton Cory Goodwin scored five in the big win Brinsworth Whitehill needed over Beighton Magpies to keep Whitehill’s title hopes alive. Brinsworth went into the game know that a big win was almost a must and they didn’t disappoint, winning 11-1. Ross Johnson scored a first minute penalty and as well as Goodwin’s five, Joe McGuiness scored twice along with one each for Matt Lindsay, Matt Claxton and Jamie Lindsay, with Harry Bolsover netting for Beighton. Brinsworth now go into Sunday’s showdown with leaders Chapeltown RBL knowing they must win and then beat Mosborough possibly by two clear goals to take the title, but if Chapeltown avoid defeat on Sunday they will take the title.

12 APRIL – CBC PREMIER – Matts finishes lift Oughtibridge – Matt Harrison and Matt Ensor both scored as Oughtibridge WM lifted themselves out of the bottom three by twice coming from behind to claim a 2-2 draw with a Wadsley Bridge Pheasant still five points from safety. Andy Dawson gave Pheasant the lead only to see it cancelled out by Harrison. Lee Gillott then restored Pheasant's lead before half-time, but second half pressure by the home team was eventually rewarded with Ensor's goal and had it not been for Pheasant keeper Statham they would have gone on to win it.
10 APRIL  Mark Plumtree RIP
The League was shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden death of the former Laycocks Sports player and Manager Mark Plumtree. He led his side to two League titles and two Merit Trophy victories, but, although it ended in defeat on the night, his proudest moment was leading his Laycock Sports team out at his beloved Bramall Lane for the 2003 League Cup Final. Mark is pictured standing on the far right. He was a sportsman through and through and will be sorely missed by his family, friends and everyone that knew him. Mark's funeral takes place on Tuesday 12 April at Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium at 2:30, with a wake at the Laycock Sports club afterwards.

10 APRIL – CBC PREMIER – Stannington and Joker stalemate, while Turner lifts Civil – The top two, Stannington Village and Joker shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw to give the title advantage to Joker. Joker keeper Jack Pasley was the first to be called into action to make two good saves before a Kris Lee-Green shot was well saved by the Stannington keeper. Parirs Dixon the headed over the bar as Joker pressed, but it was Stannington that took the lead after just before half-time when a long throw saw the ball flicked on to Dave Shepherd, who chested it down and finished well. The second half saw Stannington’s Jack Haslam hit a post and saw Callum Hawksworth head a guilt edged chance over the bar, but it was Joker that got their equaliser when Liam O’Brien’s cross to the back post was headed back by Joe Austin for the advancing Adam Daughtrey to fire into the roof of the net. Both sides went for a winner, but it remained level – a score that gives Joker the edge in the title race.

Royal Earl remain in the title hunt after they were awarded the points after Handsworth Everest Inn couldn’t field a team. At the other end of the table Civil Sports, with the help of a Jordan Turner hat-trick and one from Gary Eades gave Civil a 4-0 victory to complete the double over Norton Sportsman and lift themselves out of the bottom three

Wadsley Bridge Pheasant remain in deep trouble after being held 2-2 at home by fellow strugglers AFC Dronfield. Dronfield took an early lead when they were awarded a penalty and Joe Taylor scored, but just before half time George Rudd levelled for Pheasant. Just a minute after half time Sam Porter put Dronfield back in front and it looked like all the points would go their way when Pheasant’s Jordan Stocks missed a penalty, but in the final few minutes Ash Simpson grabbed the equaliser that gives Pheasant hope they can get out of trouble.

10 APRIL – DIVISION 1 – Inter held by Colley, but South’s chances hit for Six – Division One leaders FC Inter were held to a 1-1 draw by promotion chasers Colley. Colley started well and were controlling the game, but a mistake between the keeper and fullback allowed Sam Read to nip in to give Inter a half-time lead. Colley continued to play good football in the second half and they finally grabbed a deserved equaliser when Christopher Onja got played in and cut inside to beat the keeper. Colley had a few good chances to win the game but some great goalkeeping kept the scores level to preserve Inter’s unbeaten record.

That allowed Boynton Sports to make up ground as Jake Gamban and Ethan Wilkinson goals gave them a 2-0 win at Brinsworth Phoenix. Third place Sheffield Sixs are now clear of the teams below them after winning a thriller 4-3 at fourth place Sheffield South. Harry Buxton produced a composed finish to give Sixs the lead until Sam Kay equalised for the home side. Sixs went back in front when a Danny Barnsley cross was turned into his own goal by a South defender, but Jordan Lonchar and Tom Davis goals either side of half-time looked to be turning the game South’s way. Sixs hit back and Danny Barnsley levelled before Aaron Buck hit Sixs winner.

Eckington’s promotion hopes took a blow with a second defeat in a week, this time by a Southey Social doing the utmost to stay out of the bottom three. Southey took a half-time the lead when a cross was smashed home by Brandon Whitfield and Southey struck again straight after the break when a ball into the box was hit into the top corner by Jack Appleyard. A third soon followed when a free kick bounced twice before Joe Wallace lobbed the ball over the keeper. Eckington got a goal back when a deflected effort rebounded off the Southey player and over the keeper and they got another back when a clearance cannoned off Harry Bell and into the goal, but Southey held on to take all three points.

New Bohemians gave their chances of avoiding the drop no harm with a 2-0 victory at a Cotts FC now four points from safety. Sam Brown should have given Bohemians a first half lead when he blazed over, but they did take the lead after the break when Sam Smith’s cross was turned home by Dan White. White soon grabbed a second with a powerful shot and despite fierce pressure from Cotts, the visitors held on for a crucial win.

10 APRIL – DIVISION 2 – Legion Savage Magpies as Lion beat Whitehill – Mitch Savage scored twice as Chapeltown RBL beat Beighton Magpies. After seeing two early efforts narrowly pass the post, Niall Smith opened the scoring with a right footed effort in to the bottom corner. Five minutes later excellent work from Denham Saxton down the left, presented Mitch Savage with a simple finish to double the lead. Legion then had the chance to make it three before the break when a hand ball on the box saw them awarded a penalty, but Savage Jack Thorpe go the correct way to parry out. Savage did get his second when good play between Niall Smith and the returning Josh Ball, ended with Savage hitting a fierce volley from just inside the area. The Legion defence were well organised by man of the match Dave Millen, with stand in keeper Mark Newbould having little to trouble him. The scoring was completed late on when Denham Saxton was brought down in the area and he dust himself down to calmly beat the keeper.

Only Brinsworth Whitehill can stop Chapeltown from winning the title even, but they have made life much harder for themselves after Dan Beech and Jack Joyce goals gave second place Red Lion a victory over them. Whitehill must beat Chapeltown in their final game and win their other two games by an aggregate of possibly 12 goals to pip Chapeltown to the title on goal difference.

7 APRIL – ROTHERHAM CHARITY CUP – Joker through to another final – Joker Wickersley Youth saw off Mexborough’s Dog Daisy United 3-1 in the semi-final of the Rotherham Charity Cup to reach a final for the second time in a week.

Joker was the first to apply pressure with a batch of corners, but Dog Daisy began to gain the momentum and started to look strong going forwards however the stoic Joker back line held off the attacks. However, during one such attack, Joker failed to clear their lines and the clearance going straight to a Daisy player, forcing Joker keeper Jack Pasley, to make a great save tipping the ball over the bar.

Joker should have taken the lead on the 25 minute mark when another Nix corner fell to the feet of the Joker stalwart and skipper, Joe Austin, whose shot on goal somehow managed to go over the bar. Shortly afterwards Austin provided an accurate cross into the Daisy penalty box which was narrowly missed by Nathan Taylor. Minutes later Joe Austin was again involved in a move that provided Joker the lead just before half-time. Austin and Nix combined on the touchline before Nix put in a cross which was headed home superbly by Alex Hardwick. Daisy responded and twice clipped the Joker bar, but Joker held on to the break.

Following the restart Joker were well motivated by the manager Scott Mason’s team talk and 10 minutes in Alex Hardwicks darting run was curtailed when he was felled just outside the corner of the box, the resulting free kick from the ubiquitous Kallum Nix, was skilfully steered around the wall and found its way inside the goalkeeper’s near post to put Joker two up. 10 minutes later Nix intercepted a ball in the Daisy half and his driving shot was tipped over the bar by the keeper. Joker then as good as sealed the victory when skilful winger Liam O’Brian took full advantage when he intercepted a poor clearance from the Daisy keeper and slid it round him into the back of the net.

Hardwick and O’Brien then saw efforts well saved by the Daisy keeper, but the final ten minutes of the game saw increased pressure from Daisy and it needed sub Danny Parker to clear the ball off the line with his first touch of the game. Joker keeper Jack Pasley then had to make two saves, but he was finally beaten when Josh Dacres free kick went round the wall and into the Joker net. It was to no avail as Joker saw the rest of the game out safely.

7 APRIL – CBC PREMIER – Stannington keep up the chase, but Norton slip up – Stannington Village are now just four points behind the leaders Joker Wickersley after a 3-2 victory at a Wadsley Bridge Pheasant stuck at the wrong end of the table. Pheasant started brightly and had a couple of good chances to take lead and good penalty shout turned down, but Stannington opened the scoring when Jon Wall smashed a shot into the top corner. They doubled their lead before half time when Luca DeFalco finished well in the bottom corne and it was 3-0 soon after the break when a through ball found DeFalco 25 yards out and he lobbed it perfectly over the keeper. A Jordan Stocks penalty pulled one back for Pheasant and Danny Reet grabbed a second, but they just couldn't get an equaliser.

Norton Sportsman’s title chase is all but over after their 3-2 home defeat by a Civil Sports fighting for their survival. Goals by Jordan Turner and Gary Eades put Civil two up but Gibson and Yeardley strikes saw Norton level until a late Thomas Bamford goal won it for Civil.

7 APRIL – DIVISION 1 – Inter extend their lead as Boynton are held by Cotts – Division One leaders FC Inter extended their lead at the top to seven points as goals from Jordan Beech in the first half and Russ Westby in the second half gave them a 2-0 home win over Eckington. Second place Boynton Sports couldn’t keep pace and it needed a Curtis Priday strike to earn them a 1-1 draw at struggling Cotts.

Sheffield Sixs climbed into the promotion places after coming from behind to win 2-1 at strugglers Brinsworth Phoenix. Phoenix took an early lead through Jack Hawkes, but Sixers answered back through a Will Hall volley into the corner. A cagey second half saw Sixs take the lead when Danny Barnsley turned home Brad Howe's through ball and despite some pressure from Phoenix Sixs saw it out.

Colley kept their promotion hopes alive with a narrow 3-2 victory at a Wadsley Jack Athletic now just one defeat away from relegation. Colley took a deserved half-time lead when Christopher Onja headed in, but after the break, a cross to the edge of the box saw George Scott draw Jack level. Colley hit back and Chris Belshaw broke free to put Colley back in front and he grabbed a second when he lobbed the keeper. With the game won a lapse saw Niall Wilkinson score a second for Jack with the last kick of the game.

7 APRIL – DIVISION 2 – McGuiness treble keeps Whitehill’s title dreams alive – Joe McGuiness hit a hat-trick as Brinsworth Whitehill kept their title dreams alive with a 4-2 victory at Beighton Magpies. A good game of football saw Brinsworth start brightly and quickly go ahead when Matt Claxton got in behind the Beighton defence and he squared for strike partner McGuinness to slot home. Brinsworth began to press for a second and good saves from the Beighton keeper prevented this, until he could do nothing to stop a McGuinness free kick into the top corner. A third came before half-time when Sam Sweeney crossed for centre back Jonny Claxton to volley home in superb fashion. Brinsworth was cruising but Beighton came out fighting and clawed one back within 5 minutes of the second half through Max Glaves and a second through Lee Hackett with 15 minutes remaining. Brinsworth hit back to seal the points when a quick throw-in by Brad Carroll fed McGuinness and he cooly rounded the keeper to complete his hat-trick.

5 APRIL – CBC PREMIER – Earl keep their title hopes alive with victory at Oughtibridge – Alex Rippon netted twice along with one from Chris Wood saw Royal Earl win 3-2 at Oughtibridge WM to keep their title hopes alive. It was a result that also left Oughtibridge WM only just above the drop zone.

3 APRIL – LEAGUE TWENTYTWO CUP – Earl and Joker through to the Final – This season’s League Twentytwo Cup Final will see holder’s Royal Earl take on Joker Wickersley Youth CC after they both won their semi-finals. Johno Williams (pictured left) was the star with two goals for Earl in their 3-0 victory over Norton Sportsman.A tight first half saw few chances Sportsman had a half chance when a cross in front of the Earl goal was just missed by two Sportsman attackers, but Earl’s Steve Brammer should have done better when his free header was straight at Sportsman keeper Joe Taylor. The game tilted Earl’s way in the last minute of the first half when Johno Williams shot took a slight deflection off Richard Tootle past the wrong-footed keeper.

Boosted by that, Earl began to get on top and doubled their lead with one of the best goals ever seen in the semi-finals. Sportsman thought they had cleared a corner when it fell to Williams 30 yards from goal, but his instant left foot half volley went like a bullet into the net. Sportsman rarely looked like getting back into it and when Earl’s Steve Brammer finished off a good move Earl’s place in the final was assured. Action from the game is right.

Joker Wickersley Youth CC completed a 2-0 victory over fellow CBC Premier side Handsworth Everest Inn. A goalless first half saw Joker’s Nathan Taylor hit a shot just wide, Alex Elwell shoot over the bar and Kris Lee-Green hit the side netting. Just after the break Joker’s best chance so far came from a Kallum Nix corner, which was met by Shaun Edwards’ glancing header but it skimmed low past the far post. The opener finally came when a long ball from Edwards found Ben Thornton at full gallop beating the offside trap and slipping it past keeper Tom Crosby.

Lee-Green then twice went close with a spectacular overhead kick and another effort from outside the box, but both went over the bar. Parirs Dixon then had the best chance when one on one with the keeper, but Crosby came out on top with a save at full stretch. Dixon did get his goal to seal victory when Lee Green found himself with space on the left flank with only the keeper to beat, but he unselfishly put the ball to an incoming Dixon, who hammered the ball into the back of the Handsworth net. Action from the game is left

3 APRIL – SUNDAY JUNIOR CUP – Jake pegs a final spot for Boynton – Jake Gamban (pictured right) netted twice in Boynton Sports 3-1 victory against fellow Blades Super Draw team Brinsworth Whitehill to put Boynton safely through to an all-Blades Super Draw final against Division One leaders FC Inter at the Doncaster Rovers stadium on 24 April.

Division Two Brinsworth dominated the start of the game against their Division One hosts and should have taken the lead when Drew Houghton crossed for Joe McGuinness, but he headed narrowly wide. Brinsworth carried on being on top and again should have taken the lead when McGuinness teed up Brad Carroll inside the six yard box, but he blasted over the bar. Brinsworth were left to rue those misses when they found themselves behind following a swift Boynton counter attack which ended with Lee Jordan finishing brilliantly from a tight angle. Brinsworth didn't let their heads drop though and they very nearly equalised on the stroke of half time when Carroll hit a shot from 30 yards but Adam Martin in the Boynton goal made a terrific save to deny him.

Brinsworth again started the second half looking to get an equaliser and should have when the ball fell to Carroll, but Martin again made the save. Immediately from this Boynton began to get on top and after a couple of chances went begging, Jake Gamban smashed the ball home to double Boynton’s lead. Brinsworth got back into the game a few minutes later when Carroll played through Cory Goodwin and he produced a brilliant lob over the goalkeeper. Boynton’s two goal lead was almost immediately restored though when Gamban’s corner missed everyone to go straight in. That took the wind out of Brinsworth’s sails and Boynton, driven on by the outstanding Ethan Wilkinson, went through to their first final.

3 APRIL – CBC PREMIER – Stannington go second, while the relegation fight hots up – Stannington Village are now just seven points behind the leaders Joker Wickersley after a 3-1 victory over in-form Crookes. A sustained spell of pressure by Stannington saw Jack Haslam hit the bar from 25 yards and further pressure saw the ball fall to Jack Holmes and he finished well in the bottom corner. They doubled their lead just after the half time when a scramble in the box saw Shaun Flynn (pictured left) tap home. Andrew Fox pulled one back for Crookesand pressed for an equaliser, but Stannington broke away and, after a save, the ball fell to Jasper Newhall to finish and seal the points.

The relegation battle warmed up after a Lewis Twibell double helped second bottom Wadsley Bridge Pheasant beat the already relegated Norton Oaks 6-0. Pheasant started brightly and a Jordan Stocks cross and a fine finish by Twibell gave them the lead. Stocks doubled the lead before half time and the second half saw further goals from Twibell, Danny Reet, Joe Slater and George Rudd.

Another crucial game affecting relegation saw Civil Sports come from two down to grab a share of the spoils with a 2-2 draw against in-danger AFC Dronfield. Civil started brightly but conceded a goal against the run of play when Sam Porter put Dronfield ahead. Alex Pursehouse scored a second for Dronfield just before half time, but Civil started the second half on fire and Thomas Bamford scored to get them back into the game. Civil then had one disallowed, but with a few minutes to go Jordan Turner pounced to give Civil a point.

3 APRIL – DIVISION 1 – Inter extend their lead, but the chasers all win as well – Division One leaders FC Inter got back to winning ways, 3-1 at home to Cotts to extend their lead at the top. Sam Read and Russ Westby gave Inter a two goal lead at the break, but an early second half goal from Chris Salt put Cotts right back into it until a quality Dan Hoyland strike sealed the points for Inter.

Sheffield South kept their promotion hopes alive with a 6-1 win at New Bohemians. A Tom Davis (pictured right) hat-trick, a John Rossiter double and one for Jordan Lonchar gave South a comfortable away win thanks to some excellent passing and excellent finishing. Matt Beck scored a stunner for Bohemians consolation.

Colley also kept their hopes alive with a 3-1 victory against a Brinsworth Phoenix looking as if they are heading the wrong way.Colley started brightly and passed the ball about really well and got their reward when Billy Thorley found space to give them the lead. On the stroke of half-time Joe Statham’s through ball caught Colley napping and with probably the last kick of the half Danny Commander levelled the scores. Colley soon got themselves back in front after the break when Chris Belshaw fired in and further chances came and went before Colley finally sealed the win when they were awarded a penalty and Belshaw sent the keeper the wrong way.

3 APRIL – DIVISION 2 – No games played – No Division Two games were played today.
