25 FEB - CBC PREMIER - Top two share the spoils, while Sam's the man for Church and it's allWhit for Redmires - Leaders Wadsley Bridge Pheasant came from behind to claim a share of the spoils with a 1-1 draw against second place Wickersley Youth. Wickersley started the game the better and deservedly took the lead through captain Kris Lee-Green. Wickersley should then have doubled their lead before the break when Lee-Green found himself free in the box but shot from a tight angle when a square ball for a team mate to tap home was a better option. The second half started with Pheasant looking for a way back into the game and a slip by the Wickersley defence allowed Dylan Parrott (right) to take advantage and level the scores. Wickersley then tried to get the winner with Lee-Green missing two great chances and the Pheasant keeper pulling a great save off from a Ross Johnson strike. Wickersley keeper Ben Priestley also made a smart save to deny Pheasant taking all three points.

A Sam Scrivens hat-trick and singles from Lewis Dickinson, Jack Moore and George Orrell saw Penistone Church to a 6-0 victory at Hallam and up to fourth, while Redmires moved up to sixth as Tom Whiting scored four in a 9-1 rout of Woodseats Club. Although a Dale Kay strike briefly put Woodseats back in the game and it was just 3-1 at half time, their defence in the second half found the pace of the Redmires attack too hot to handle and along with Whiting, player manager Dave Knaggs and Chris Cottyn both grabbed two and George Rudd one. Liam Paterson, Alan Mowforth and Ben Pyle goals put Norton Oaks A ahead three times against Civil Sports A, but each time the lead was cancelled out by Josh Corker, Gaz griffiths and Thomas Bamford strikes and the two sides had to settle for a point apiece from a 3-3 draw. That result allowed Handsworth Old Crown to put a bit of distance between themselves and the bottom three as they beat Intake Old Boys 2-1. Matt Ellis and David Sills were both on target for Crown, but the goal of the game was scored by Intake's John Hills

DIVISION 1 - It's as you were as top four all win, while Cotts and Cobden ease their relegation fears - Brad Bowland hit a second half hat-trick as Norton Sportsman stayed top with a comfortable 10-4 win over bottom club Civil Sports B. Chris Lewis gave Sportsman the lead after just 40 seconds, but it was soon cancelled out by Josh Buxton. That only seemed to push Sportsman forward more and Lewis with his second and Callum Frith, Chris Winters and James Archer goals made it 5-1 at the break. The second half saw Bowland take his seasons tally to 26, along with goals from Mark Fereday  and Jack Waymouth, while Buxton completed his hat-trick for Civil along with a James Hall strike.

Woodhouse Village held onto second place with a 5-3 home win over Ranch. Ranch struck first with a Tom Burns header, but Woodhouse soon equalised with a Ryan Simmonite header. Woodhouse quickly added a second through a Nicky Haywood free-kick and a third with a Theo Wilson strike. Ranch hit back before half time with a Mikey Thomas header, but Woodhouse grabbed a fourth before the break when Oli Grady fired home from thirty yards. Ranch dominated the second half and Chris Wajs reduced the deficit, but they couldn't find an equaliser and with the last play of the game Perry Jackson went one on one win the Ranch keeper before calmly taking it round him for Woodhouse's fifth.

Chapeltown RBL stayed third with a hard earned 2-0 victory over a Norton Oaks B that can count themselves unlucjy not to take something from the game. RBL took the lead when skipper Danny Cardwell whipped in a delightful free kick, Ryan Robinson glanced it on and fellow centre half Joe Wadsworth smashed it home. Chances after that were at a premium but in the dying moments Cal Tuxford intercepted a loose ball in his own half and raced clear before being scythed down in the box. Up stepped Danny Cardwell to slam the ball home and guarantee the RBL  the three points.

Oughtibridge WM remain fourth after their 3-0 victory over a Southey Social that had seven players missing. Oughtibridge twice went close through Callum Chambers and Chas Tunnard (left) befor they secured a half time lead when Josh Walker met a Tunnard cross. The depleted Southey side had to put both top scorers John Mellor and Josh Sugden in defence and reserve keeper Nathan Stovold put a good shift in upfront, but Oughtibridge proved too strong and after Tunnard had scored their second when he raced clear, Matt Harrison completed the scoring when he fastened onto a Danny Booth through ball.

Cotts FC took another step towards safety as a Michael Blythen (right) hat-trick and singles from Kieran patterson and Salem Hizam gave them to a 5-3 victory at relegation threatened Brinsworth Phoenix. Karl Fox gave Phoenix the lead, but they soon found themselves behind. Jordan Pearce danced through the Cotts defence to put Phoenix back in the game and Richard Ellin met a Matt Winfrow cross to get their third, but it was Cotts that went home with the points that lifted the seven points above the drop zone.

Cobden View are also seven points from danger after their 6-2 victory at a Colley that could be just two more defeats away from the drop. Josh Limbrick scored just before half time to give View a half time lead, but Colley started brightly in the second half and Christopher Onjia deservedly drew them level. Against the run of play Cobden got a penalty and Joe Taylor scored to put them ahead, but Colley responded and Ian Sharland hit a shot from forty yards into the top corner. Colley then thought they had the lead, but the referee ruled that the ball hadn't crossed the line and as  they tired in the final twenty mins, Cobden took advantage to take the points with a second from Limbrick, two from George Wilson-Bland and one from Aaron Ellis.

DIVISION 2 - Crookes go top after Jockey hit by four from McFadzean, while Earl end Boynton's unbeaten record - Despite a Danny State goal for the home side, Division Two has new leaders after an own goal and a Matt Owen (left) goal gave Crookes FC a narrow 2-1 win at Mosborough Whites. Mosborough Reds did much better as Jay McFadzean scored four in a 5-3 win at previous leaders Wadsley Horse & Jockey. Niall Wilkinson gave Jockey the lead and although McFadzean cancelled it out from a Ross through ball, Sam Civil netted to give Jockey a half-time lead. The second half belonged to McFadzean - he equalised again before completing his hat-trick from a Sherritt through ball.Josh Smith scored direct from a corner to extend Reds lead, before keeper Adam Ledger saved a penalty to stop Jockey pulling one back. Leon Dearns managed to get a third for Jockey but any hopes of a point ended when McFadzean saw the keeper off his line and scored his fourth from the half way line.

The division's last unbeaten record was ended as Steve Brammer and Michael Towey doubles helped Royal Earl to a 5-0 victory over Boynton Sports. Bammer and Towey gave Earl a two goal half time lead and after they had both netted their secon, Connor Chapell scored Earl's fifth. Fourth place Forum made no mistake though as Jav Sherratt scored twice in their 5-2 victory at Woodseats Chantrey. Joseph Thompson and Andy Harrison gave Forum a two goal lead before Danny Lonsdale pulled one back, but two from Jav Sherratt and one from Josh Gibson made Josh Connelly's first ever goal for Chantrey just a consolation. Woodhouse Juniors gained their first away win of the season as Henry Bradshaw netted twice in their 3-1 victory at Shakey. Sam Ledger netted Woodhouse's other while Joe Woodhouse netted for Shakey.

11 FEB - CBC PREMIER - Handsworth get three points but all other CBC Premier games postponed - The weather was the big winner in the CBC Premier with all games postponed due to waterlogged or snow covered pitches, except Handsworth Old Crown's home game with third place Killamarsh Juniors, which was awarded to Handsworth after Killamarsh couldn't get a team together.

DIVISION 1 - Bowland at the double to keep Sportsman on top, while Reed and Wall doubles put Village back in the top three - Leaders Norton Sportsman stayed on top as a Brad Bowland (left) double helped them to victory over promotion rivals Southey Social, while Woodhouse Village climed back to second as Tom Reed and Mark Wall doubles helped them to victory at Colley.

The Division’s leaders Norton Sportsman remain on course for promotion as they overcame visitors Southey Social 4-1 on a heavy pitch. Norton’s top scorer Brad Bowland (left) gave them the perfect start when he headed home after just five minutes, and Sonny Wilson doubled the advantage in the opening minute of the second half. John Mellor reduced the arrears for Southey but Norton secured the points thanks to Bowland’s second goal of the morning and another effort from James Archer.

The only other game saw Woodhouse Village move into second place after a 7-2 win at relegation threatened Colley. Colley however took the lead when Christopher Onija put them in front but a Tom Reed brace and a Perry Jackson (right) penalty put Village 3-1 in front. Chris Fowler reduced it 3-2 but Village then netted four unanswered goals thanks to Nick Haywood, Jamie Hopkins and a double from Mark Wall.

DIVISION 2 - All Division 2 games postponed   - The waether was the only winner in Division Two with all games postponed.

4 FEB - CBC PREMIER - Leaders see off Church, while Pheasant Turn screw on Hallam - Wickersley Youth held on to the CBC Premier top spot with a 5-3 victory at title rivals Penistone Church. Despite the hosts being the better side in the first half they somehow found themselves two down at the break with goals from Joe McGuinness and Cory Goodwin giving Wickersley the advantage. Penistone started the second half still on top and it took them just eight minutes to level with goals from Lewis Dickinson and Sam Askey. This gave Wickersley a reality check and they really turned it on. Ross Johnson hit the bar, but Ben Thornton followed up the rebound to score with a great header. Thornton then set up captain Kris Lee-Green to restore their two goal advantage and Lee-Green then made it 5-2 with a lovely finish from a Cory Goodwin cross. Penistone got a late consolation through Bren Matthews but Wickersley held on for three deserved points. Action from the game is below - pictures courtesy of Peter Hulley.

Jordan Turner took his tally to fourteen with four goals as Wadsley Bridge Pheasant kept up the pressure on the leaders with a 9-1 win at bottom club Hallam. Four goals from Lewis Fothergill, Josh Statham, Turner and an own goal in the first thirty minutes put Pheasant in command and although Jack Waddle pulled one back for Hallam before half time, Pheasant kept control in the second half and added five more, three from Turner and one each for Adam Askwith and Joel Evans.

Killamarsh Juniors kept themselves in the title race with a 5-2 home victory over Norton Oaks A. Oaks dominated the first half and took a two goal lead through two Liam Paterson strikes. They should have been out of sight at the interval, but they missed two 1-on-1's, saw a strike bounce off the underside of the bar and missed two open goals from inside the six yard box and those misses eventually cost them dear. Montelle Kamara pulled one back just before the break and although Killamarsh lost their keeper through injury, full back Ross Taylor looked assured in his place. Ash Rycroft scored an early second half equaliser, before an error by the Oaks keeper allowed Joe Glover to give Killamarsh the lead and an Oaks team low on confidence caved, as Kamara netted his second and Matt Hague marked his debut with a goal.

Stannington Village made it four wins in a row without conceding a goal with a 2-0 victory over Intake Old Boys. Village created the best chances in the first half when Shaun Flynn beat two men, but his shot came back off the post, before Alex Torr forced a great save from the Intake keeper. They managed the breakthrough on the hour when a corner was headed back across goal by Ben Cook and in the scramble Jimmy Middleton forced the ball home. Intake responded and it needed good defending by Callum Pinhorn to stop an equaliser. Village were dangerous on the break and almost doubled their lead when Arnie Grayson squared the ball for Flynn, but he hit the post a second time. When the second goal did come it was in bizarre fashion as a defender slammed a clearance against Adam Todd and the ball looped back past the stranded Intake keeper.

 Goals from Jake Gamban, Tom Whiting and a George Rudd double helped Redmires ease away from the bottom three with a 4-2 home win over Handsworth Old Crown. Dave Haggerty and Jordan Stocks pulled two back for Handsworth but Redmires held on. After Gary Eades and Leon Howarth had twice given Civil Sports A the lead, they also looked likely to collect three points, but Sam Read hit Woodseats Club's first equaliser and with just injury time remaining a Nicky Owen strike earned Club a share of the spoils.

DIVISION 1 - Bowland treble keeps Sportsman on top, but the chasing pack all also win - Despite twice going behind, Norton Sportsman stayed on top of Division One as a Brad Bowland treble helped them to a 4-2 victory over Cobden View. Bowland headed a Jack Waymouth cross to cancel out Mike Walker's goal for View and Bowland converted a Connor Pryde cross to cancel out Josh Limbrick's goal. James Archer gave Sportsman in front from 18 yards and Bowland sealed the points in the second half when he completed his hat-trick with a 25 yard free kick.

The chasing pack all also won though. After Cal Tuxford had given Chapeltown RBL the lead after just 19 seconds they went on to beat Colley 4-0. Although RBL skipper Danny Cardwell had a weak penalty kick saved, Joe Long netted twice before Ryan Robinson completed the scoring. Oughtibridge had a hat-trick of hat-tricks in their 14-0 win at Civil Sports B with Ollie Black, Matt Harrison and Josh Walker each hitting trebles. Evan Watson and Ross Brown weighed in with two each and their other goal came from Chas Tunnard.

Woodhouse Village triumphed 3-0 in their local derby with Cotts FC. Village started quickly and wasted a few chances before Theo Wilson won and scored a penalty to put them in front. With Oliver Barrett and Mark Wall giving Village a solid defence, they continued to dominate and Jon Dolan spun before finding the bottom corner to double the lead. Perry Jackson marked his return to the side by setting up Joe Charlesworth to score the third from 25 yards.

Southey Social came from behind to beat Brinsworth Phoenix 2-1. Daniel Commander scored with a fine finish from a through ball from Jordan Pearce to give Phoenix the lead. Phoenix's stand in goal keeper Jake Slaughter kept his side in the game with some fantastic saves, but even he couldn't stop Adam Danks from equalizing and Andre Garwood-Hasting from hitting Southey's winner. The day's other Division One game saw a Matt Jacobs header give Ranch a 1-0 victory over Norton Oaks B.

DIVISION 2 - Barnsley keeps Jockey on top, while Earl end Crookes unbeaten record  - Division Two leaders Wadsley Horse & Jockey maintained their five point lead as a Danny Barnsley hat-trick and one each for Connor Jubb and Leon Dearns helped them to a 5-0 victory at Woodhouse Juniors. Forum moved up to second as Josh Gibson hit three in their 8-0 victory over Crookes & District. James Pemberton and Antony Holmes hit two each and Jav Sherratt the other, while Joe Kazmierkiewicz was named Man of the Match.

Crookes FC slipped back though after suffering their first League defeat of the season at the hands of old rivals Royal Earl. Crookes dominated play for good periods and had it not been for some outstanding saves by Earl keeper Jimmy Dean would have won the game comfortably. Although Earl's player manager Matt Parks scored an unfortunate own goal, it was equalled by an own goal by Crookes and Earl's resolute defending paid off in the end when Callum Greaves netted Earl's winner to end Crookes' unbeaten League record. That Crookes defeat left Boynton Sports as the division's only unbeaten side and despite a Joe Woodhouse goal for hosts Shakey, a Jake Ballinger double and one each for Marc Peacock and Ben Jordan maintained Boynton's record with a 4-1 win. After a goalless first half Craig Spencer gave Cadbury the lead against Woodseats Chantrey, but Chantrey hit back with a Gavin Sambrook double to gain their fourth win of the season.
