23 NOV - December Fixtures and Referees now listed - The Fixtures and Referees for December are now listed in the Fixtures section. All home teams MUST make sure that their home pitch is available on all the dates shown. Please email Keith immediately if your pitch is not available on a date shown.

All home clubs must also confirm the details with your referees and opponents for all dates shown IMMEDIATELY. The home clubs should later (the Tuesday before the game) ring the referee to make sure the referee has got all the details.

The referee for some games on 17 Dec may change once the County FA has allocated referees to the Sunday Cup ties on that date.

Please email Keith immediately if any of the referees tell you they cannot do the fixture listed. Matches without referees must still go ahead and, if you have not been allocated a referee by the date of the game, the two clubs must agree on a stand-in 'referee' between them. Keith will still be working to gain more referees, so if you find one yourself, will you let Keith know immediately please.

22 NOV - Sunday Cups Quarter Final draws - The draws for the Sunday Senior and Sunday Junior Cups was made yesterday and all our six remaining teams managed to avoid each other. In the Sunday Senior Cup Redmires will stage a repeat of last season's quarter final when they entertain Rotherham's Fitzwilliam Arms, a game Redmires won 6-3, while Intake Old Boys will travel to Barnsley's Wombwell Main.

The Sunday Junior Cup quarter finals will see Royal Earl entertain The Crown Wath upon Dearne and Mosborough Whites are also at home against the Mexborough's Swinton Robin Hood that knocked out fellow Div 2 side Boynton Sports in Round 3. Southey Social travel to Rotherham Tier 3 side Silverwood and Crookes FC are also away at Barnsley's Premier Division Swaithe FC. All ties in both competitions are currently scheduled for 17 Dec.  

19 NOV - SUNDAY SENIOR CUP - Whiting and West doubles see Redmires and Intake Old Boys through - Two of our teams made the quarter finals, one at the expense of another our member clubs. The first of these were last season’s semi-finalists Redmires (right) as they overcame KP Pewter Pot of the Rotherham Sunday League, 6-2. The game was as good as over at half time as the home side raced into a 4-0 lead. Although Pewter Pot reduced the arrears to 4-2, Redmires kicked on again scored twice more to record an emphatic triumph. Tom Whiting led the scoring with a well taken hat-trick, whilst a double from George Rudd and one from Dale White completed it.

Also in the last eight are Intake Old Boys as they defeated fellow CBC Premier side Norton Oaks A 5-3 away from home. Norton took the lead when a defensive slip allowed Jordan Marshall to net but Alex Rippon equalised for Intake with a header. The same player then put his side ahead from the penalty spot after Harry Groombridge was brought down in the area. Intake extended their lead when Mark West scored their second penalty of the day, but an own goal reduced the arrears. A ball over the top from stand-in goalkeeper Tyler Bates allowed West to score his second before Rich Conway again made it a one goal game. However, West had the final say when he evaded three Norton defenders and then rounded the keeper to complete a superb treble.

Wadsley Bridge Pheasant exited though as they lost 3-1 to another Rotherham Premier side in the shape of AFP; Dylan Parrott scoring the sole Pheasant strike.

SUNDAY JUNIOR CUP - Mosborough Whites and Southey Social pull off shock wins as all four go through - Both Crookes FC and Royal Earl hit nine goals as they made light work of their opponents whilst there were narrow but hugely successful wins for both Mosborough Whites and Southey Social. Crookes FC comfortably disposed of their hosts Maltby Rangers with a comprehensive 9-1 away win. Micah Bishop scored a hat-trick to lead the individual scorecharts, whilst Liam Morris added a brace and there were single efforts from Matt Cohen, Liam Cartledge, James Humbling and Max Pemberton. Also scoring heavily were Royal Earl as they defeated Thrybergh SSC 9-2. Both Steve Brammer and Mike Towey (left) scored trebles, and goals from Olly Beaumont, Billy Wright and Jake Mason finished off the rout.

A single goal from Callum Congreave was just the trick for Mosborough Whites as they defeated Swallownest Village; whom had put out Norton Sportsman out in the previous round. Completing a full house of victories for the Blades Super Draw League were Southey Social as they made their lengthy trip to Upton Wrangbrook a winning one with a 3-2 win. A goal down to a strike on the stroke of half time, Southey restored parity when an Upton defender turned the ball into his own net. John Mellor made it 2-1 to Southey before Callum Jones saved a penalty and the subsequent follow up from the home side. Shortly afterwards Upton did indeed level but with just six minutes left, Adam Danks was in the right place to net what proved to be the eventual match winning goal.

CBC PREMIER -CBC PREMIER - Killamarsh slip up at Civil to let Wickersley go top - The leadership of the CBC Premier Division changed hands as Wickersley Youth recorded a 7-2 win at basement club Hallam FC. Jack Waddle opened the scoring for Hallam before two goals from Joe McGuinness and a curled effort from man of the match Ben Thornton put the visitors. Elliott Coles drew Hallam level but then the floodgates opened in style as Adam Daughtrey, Ainsley Finney and Thornton all scored without response to send Lewis Carder’s men to the summit.

Killamarsh Juniors were the leaders at the start of play and looked ready to record another win when two first half Callum Mawbey goals had them in front at Civil Sports A. Ten minutes into the second half, Civil reduced the deficit with a Harley Wilson penalty and then skipper Ben Brown (right) drew them level when he connected from a corner kick. Civil completed an impressive turnaround with just two minutes left on the clock, Thomas Bamford with the winning strike.

Stannington Village and Handsworth Old Crown were forced to shake hands on a 1-1 draw at Malin Bridge. Village took the lead when a Shaun Flynn cross was tapped home at the far post by Adam Todd, and they could have added to it with Danny Smith and Ben Cook going close. Handsworth levelled with twenty minutes to go when Russell Hobson scored from the penalty spot and Stannington had to hold for a point with ten men thanks to an all-important save from Nathan Ryan.

DIVISION 1 - Woodhouse Village win the battle of the top two, but RBL, Sportsman and Oughtibridge all keep pace with them - The top two in Division One clashed and it was the leaders Woodhouse Village who came out on top in a brilliant game that was a superb advert for the league, defeating Cobden View 2-1. Two goals from Perry Jackson and Theo Wilson put Village in control at half time before Cobden skipper Joe Taylor took advantage of a defensive slip to reduce the margin. Both teams went for more goals after that and it took a Ryan Simmonite clearance from the goal-line in the last couple of minute to deny Cobden a share of the spoils.

Moving into second place are Chapeltown RBL as they recorded a 3-2 win in another superb game; this time at Cotts FC. Michael Blythen put the home team ahead but Legion levelled just before half time when Keenan Gibson flicked the ball home. In the second half, Gavin Butler made it six goals in six games to put the visitors in front and then Dale Shaw got on the end of a fine cross by man of the match Niall Smith to extend the lead. Blythen scored his second of the morning but Legion held on well for three well deserved points. Action from the game is below - pictures by Mick Moat.

Behind them on goal difference only are Norton Sportsman as they overcame Ranch 2-1. Ryan Rutherford put the visiting team ahead after a well created move on the half hour, but five minutes later Connor Pryde outpaced the defence to level matters. The game winning goal came five minutes into the second half when Chris Lewis found the corner of the Ranch net from eighteen yards out but Ranch couldn’t break through again. Brinsworth Phoenix and Norton Oaks B shared four goals and the points with a 2-2 tie, Karl Fox and an own goal scoring for Phoenix whilst Mansell and Meah did the same for Oaks.

Oughtibridge WM recorded probably their biggest ever win as they defeated a gallant Steelers side 18-0; scoring nine in each half. Callum Chambers had four whilst Simon Duckworth and Ross Brown both added hat-tricks. Ollie Black and James Baker added doubles whilst Justin Westoby, Evan Watson, Josh Walker and Richard Honeyman completed a comprehensive win for David Hudson’s men. Also scoring a clutch of goals were Colley as they defeated Civil Sports B 7-4, Josh Buxton scored a hat-trick (one from the spot) for Neil Whitworth’s team and Christopher Onija and Regan Dempsey scored twice whilst all Civil’s goals were scored by the ever-prolific Jed Phillips and they remain in the bottom two.

DIVISION 2 - Leaders Jockey end Boynton's perfect record, while Mosborough Reds and Woodhouse move into the top three  - Wadsley Horse & Jockey remain at the head of Division Two after a 1-1 draw at Boynton Sports; a result which ended the home side’s one hundred percent record. Aaron Statham put Wadsley ahead but Ross Thompson equalised from close range and a draw was seen as a fair result. Into second place are Mosborough Reds as they recorded a stupendous 8-1 away win at Woodseats Chantrey. Josh Smith scored a well taken three goal haul whilst Joe Harris and Luke Fogg both netted twice and Scott Williams once. Chantrey’s goal was a pure consolation in the dying stages from Danny Lonsdale.

Woodhouse Juniors are third with a 7-0 away win at the ever plucky Crookes and District. It was goalless for the first twenty minutes and then the floodgates opened wide with five goals hitting the Crookes net in the next twenty minutes to send the visitors five goals ahead at half time with two more in the final quarter of an hour. Jake Dean scored a hat-trick whilst Tom Bland’s double and one each from Henry Bradshaw and Joe Shutt put them in seventh heaven. Inspired by Phil Nshindano, Forum won 6-2 at home to Shakey with goals from Josh Gibson; twice; and additional strikes from Josh Schofield, James Pemberton, Jav Sherratt and player-manager Jamie Smith. Shakey replied through Andrew Redfearn and Steve Dickinson.

12 NOV - CBC PREMIER - Pheasant record Ripped apart, but Oaks keep theirs to go second - CBC Premier leaders Killamarsh Juniors still stay ahead of a chasing pack but had to settle for a draw as visitors Penistone Church came back to share the spoils in a 2-2 game. The game was goalless for the first half but Killamarsh took the lead when James Savage scored, a lead doubled when Callum Mawbey went through one on one and coolly finished. The visitors rallied in the final fifteen minutes and scored twice in seven minutes through Callum Lee and George Orrell to gain a point.

Behind them by a point are Norton Oaks A and Intake Old Boys; Norton with two games in hand. Two goals in the final two minutes secured the point for Norton as they defeated Hallam FC 3-1 thanks to a brace from Liam Paterson and one from Scott Westney, with James Walsh scoring Hallam’s only goal. Intake are third after a splendid 2-1 away at former CBC Premier champions Wadsley Bridge Pheasant. The game was played with a stiff breeze making it difficult, but Pheasant took the lead when Lewis Fothergill cut the ball back for Adam Claydon to slot home. Halfway through the second half Intake levelled when substitute Alex Rippon was fouled in the area and he picked himself up to score the resultant penalty. The winner came from the same player, again a penalty was awarded but although the initial kick was saved – Rippon was in the right place to net the rebound and end Pheasant's unbeaten record.

Current champions Stannington Village left it late as they recorded a 3-2 win at Wickersley. It was the home side who took the lead when Ross Johnson finished well after a great feed from Alex Elwell, but Stannington then got into it and levelled in the final throes of the first half when Alex Torr (left) was in the right place to knock home a rebound from a Shaun Flynn shot. Wickersley regained the lead with a cool finish from Joe McGuinness and looked well set for the victory until two goals in the final ten minutes took that away from them. With ten minutes to go, Arnie Grayson bulleted home a header from a Flynn corner and in the final minute Torr was upended in the area and the striker picked himself up to net the winner from the spot.

Redmires took full points from their trip to Handsworth Old Crown as they overcame their hosts 2-1. Both goals came in the first half, thanks to George Rudd and Chris Cottyn and it could have been much more. Handsworth were second best for the majority of the game, and a last-minute David Sills strike made it a one goal game but it proved to be too little; too late. In the final CBC Premier game, Civil Sports A and visitors Woodseats Club shared six goals. Civil started brilliantly with two goals in the opening five minutes from Joe Littlewood and Wesley Bamford but in the second half Woodseats came back into it with a Nick Owen brace (one a thirty-yard stunner) and Lewis Whittaker. A great game didn’t deserve a loser and when Civil were awarded a penalty in the final minute; Harley Wilson stepped up to equalise for the home side.

DIVISION 1 - Cobden undone by Turton as Woodhouse go seven points clear at the top - Division One leaders Woodhouse Village are now seven points clear at the second tier as they routed Civil Sports B 8-1. Ollie Grady missed an early spot kick for Village but they then scored five goals in the first half to put the game beyond their opponents thanks to doubles from Callum Paine and Theo Wilson; and a single effort from Ryan Lee. Civil’s Jacob Walkland missed a penalty of their own before Ben Firth reduced the arrears, only for Harry Emery to net with Village’s second penalty of the morning to make it 6-1. Lee’s second goal of the match made it seven before Village captain Joe Moakes finished off the rout with a neat finish towards the end of the game.

Second placed Cobden View remain in that position after a 1-0 loss at Norton Oaks B, Mark Turton’s (right) header from a Jordan Holland set piece gave them the points and a first win of the season thanks to a resilient team performance. Closing on them and third placed Chapeltown RBL are Norton Sportsman as they defeated Brinsworth Phoenix 4-1. Doubles from Sonny Wilson and Brad Bowland did the trick for Sportsman whilst Phoenix’s sole response came from Karl Fox who headed home a Nicky Shaw corner kick.

Ranch leapfrogged their hosts Colley with a good 5-2 away win. Jake Ward and Mitch Cowlishaw put them two goals ahead at the interval and a wonder strike from Jack Williams made it three before Colley got back into it with goals from Josh Buxton and Ridha Miladi before Ranch put it beyond them with a double in the final ten minutes from Alex Mosley. Southey Social inflicted another league loss on strugglers Steelers 6-1 despite having to field striker John Mellor as an emergency goalkeeper. Josh Sugden and Lewis Twibell both scored twice for Southey, and Ryan Whitney and Todd Guest one apiece to complete a comprehensive win against a Steelers side whose sole goal came from debutant Liam Middlemass.

DIVISION 2 - Earl undone by Crookes, while Jockey extend their lead at the top - Crookes FC came away from old rivals Royal Earl with all three points to go second in the table, but leaders Wadsley Horse & Jockey made no mistake as two Danny Bent strikes helped them go five points clear with victory over Woodhouse Juniors. Helped by a Ross Thompson hat-trick, Boynton Sports are up to third after maintaining their perfect record with victory at Woodseats Chantrey and Forum maintained their unbeaten record with victory at Mosborough Reds, while a Curtis Priday double helped Cadbury to a second away win of the season at Shakey.

Division Two, leaders Wadsley Horse and Jockey arrested their recent slide in form with a 3-1 home win over Woodhouse Juniors. Danny Bent scored a double and Lewis Smith once whilst Dimtri White scored Woodhouse’s only goal. In the game featuring two of the league’s newcomers it was Crookes FC who came out on top with a 2-0 away triumph thanks to two late finishes from Micah Bishop and James Reed. Referee Jack Hall also receiving praise for his handling of the game.

Boynton Sports are into third place after they recorded a 5-3 win at Woodseats Chantrey. Ben Raynes gave Chantrey the lead from the penalty spot but some great skill by Lee Jordan made a level game at the interval. Danny Lonsdale put the home side back in front after Boynton stopped for an offside that was never forthcoming before Ross Thompson scored his first of the day to make it 2-2. Charlie Hawkins again put Chantrey ahead before Thompson completed his hat-trick with two superb finishes to put the visitors ahead for the first time. Daniel Dunkerley finished the comeback with a fifth when he got on the end of a free-kick.

Forum took the points from their visit to Mosborough Reds with a 3-1 away triumph. Josh Gibson, Javan Sherratt and James Pemberton secured the points for Jamie Smith’s team whilst Mosborough’s sole goal came from a close range finish from Ashley Sherritt; and they also missed a penalty just before half-time. Billy Hilbert scored twice for Shakey but they ended on the losing side as a Priday double and an own goal gave visitors Cadbury a 3-2 win; their second win of the season.
