27 NOV - CBC PREMIER - Pheasant title hopes Torr-n to shreds, but Turf slam Angel to stay top - Wadsley Bridge Pheasant's chances of retaining the CBC Premier title are all but over after an Alex Torr (left) hat-trick helped Stannington Village to a 4-0 victory and gain revenge for their cup defeat by Pheasant. Bill Green had already hit the Pheasant bar before Stannington went ahead after Shaun Flynn's corner had been flicked on by Adam Todd for Charlie Hobson to celebrate his return from injury by volleying home. The lead was doubled just before half time when Dean Jepson's through ball was slid past the keeper by Torr. After the break it was Todd's turn to set Torr up for his second and he completed his hat-trick from a Lee Johnstone through ball.

The win wasn't enough to see Village go top as FC Handsworth Turf stayed there with an equally impressive 4-0 victory over neighbours Woodhouse Angel. Turf took the lead when David Sills was on hand to touch the ball home after Russell Hobson's shot had been blocked by the keeper. They almost doubled it in the first half when Jordan Stocks free kick hit the bar, but they did get a second after the break when man of the match Ben Shackshaft (right) found the run of James Leesley and he fired into the bottom corner. Shackshaft then combined with Hobson before making it three and skipper David Haggerty then put Hobson through for him to make it four with a lob over the keeper.

Redmires stayed in the hunt with victory in a ten goal thriller at City Taxis. Scott Westney stunned Redmires when he gave Taxis an early lead, but Redmires quickly took control with two from Andy Bath and one each for Matt Hanson and Jon Wall. Westney netted a penalty for his second before the break. Redmires player manager Dave Knaggs (left) then made it 5-2 before Westney completed his hat-trick to give Taxis hope, but it didn't last long as Jake Gamban hit a sixth for Redmires. Although an own goal gave Taxis a fourth, Redmires saw the game out.

Brinsworth Whitehill got back into the title race with a 5-3 victory at in-form Norton Oaks A. Brinsworth had to start the game without goalkeeper Ben Priestley and star striker Ainsley Finney as they were stuck in traffic, but they made the brighter start and deservedly took the lead through an Adam Daughtrey strike. Ross Johnson missed a chance to double it and it proved costly as Rich Conway levelled for Oaks. After the missing players arrived Brinsworth deservedly got their noses back in front through Ross Johnson's strike from 30 and another great strike from right back Lewis Watson made it 3-1 at the break. The second half saw Norton Oaks came out looking to get a way back in the game and a Danny Reet solo goal pulled one back before further pressure allowed Jamie Marshall to head an equaliser. Brinsworth hit back and took the lead for a third time with a Sam Carr strike after good play from Daughtrey and Daughtrey then went clean through on goal but unselfishly set sub Ainsley Finney up to tap home to complete the scoring. Phoenix couldn't match their Brinsworth neighbours as a Ben Jameson header after just two minutes turned out to be the only goal of the game to give Hallam a precious victory over them.

DIV 1 - Church held up, while Oughtibridge extend their lead at the top - The League's last perfect record fell when Penistone Church were held to a 2-2 draw by hosts Killamarsh Juniors. Scott Briggs gave Penistone the lead, but David Singh pulled Killamarsh level before Joe Glover's neat finish gave them the lead. With new keeper James Abramski in inspired form it looked like Killamarsh would end Penistone's unbeaten record, but with the last kick of the game Tim Council pounced to give Penistone a deserved point. Action from the game is below - pictures by Mick Moat.

That result allowed Oughtibridge WM to extend their lead at the top of Division One by coming from behind to win 5-1 at promotion rivals Ranch. Josh Naylor gave Ranch a first minute lead, but Oughtibridge levelled when Callum Chambers set Matt Cundy up on his first appearance of the season and just before half time Chambers controlled the ball before firing into the corner to give his side the lead. Ranch had plenty of the ball after the break, but couldn't break down the Oughtibridge defence and instead it was Danny Clinton that added a third for the visitors before Callum Simms added a fourth  from a Justin Westoby pass. Daryl Beech made it five when he was first to the ball after Ross Brown's penalty had been saved by the keeper.

Nicky Owen (right) hit his fourth hat-trick of the season as Woodseats Club went second with a 6-1 victory at neighbours Dale WMC. Liam Bryon, Sam Read and Lewis Whittakar hit Woodseats others while Jake Schofield replied for Dale. Intake Old Boys are back up to third after a 3-0 victory at Ecclesfield Players Lounge. Pat Lindley hit the first two and James Colliver made the game safe after combining with Shaun Higginbottom. Chapeltown RBL's promotion bid took a hit though with a home 4-0 home defeat by Southey Social. Josh Sugden and Ryan Whitney both scored twice as Southey climbed out of the bottom three.

DIV 2 - Cobden go top as Village is hit by Pitt strikes, while Oaks make it five in a row - After scoring four the previous week, Tim Pitt scored three more as Cobden View went top of Division Two with a 4-2 victory at fellow title contenders Woodhouse Village. Jason Short gave Woodhouse the lead and they could have added to it, but with the final kick of the first half Pitt equalised. Pitt then gave Cobden the lead in the second half, but Woodhouse grabbed an equaliser when Theo Wilson slammed the loose ball home. Cobden quickly restored their lead when Aaron Ellis hit a real stunner from twenty five yards and, just after Woodhouse had hit a post, Pitt completed his hat-trick with an unstoppable shot from thirty yards. Action from the game is below.

After Jack Cassim had given Woodhouse Juniors an early lead, Norton Oaks B hit back to gain their fifth consecutive victory, 3-1 thanks to two Nasa Meah goals and one from Sam Wells. Colley got their challenge back on track as Anthony Marshall (right) hit a hat-trick in their 6-2 victory over Shakey. Colley's others came from Faisal Miladi, a Joe Buxton penalty and Jack Wheywell, while Tom Fulleylove and Billy Herbert netted for Shakey in the second half.

Woodseats Chantrey gained revenge for the previous week's defeat by Crookes & District by beating them 3-1. Jordan Sambrook gave Chantrey a half time lead and Danny Lonsdale made it two after the keeper had saved his first attempt. Brad Gray made it three from the edge of the area, before Jon Butler netted Crookes' consolation. Steelers secured their first away win of the season 2-1 at Cadbury. Grant gave Cadbury the lead, Leighton Buck levelled just before half time and Ismael Willis hit the winner in the second half.

Redmires reward for beating the holders is a home tie against opponents yet to be decided, but include last season's beaten finalists, the current Rotherham Sunday League leaders, Fitzwilliam Arms. The other two are both away, with Stannington Village travelling to Anston Leeds Arms of the Rotherham Sunday League, and Norton Oaks A travelling to Meadowhall Premier outfit High Noon.

The full draw for the Sunday Senior Cup is: REDMIRES v Winner of tie 64 (Balby Athletic or Forum FCCO v Fitzwilliam Arms); Anston Leeds Arms v STANNINGTON VILLAGE; High Noon v NORTON OAKS 'A'; Joker v Royal Earl. All the ties are scheduled for Sunday 18 December, although Redmires tie is likely to be delayed until after that date.

The Sunday Junior Cup has one definite all-Blades Super Draw Quarter Final between Division One rivals Chapeltown RBL and Dale WMC and there could be another all Division One tie if Penistone Chucrh win their delayed Round 4 tie as they will entertain Woodseats Club. Ecclesfield Players Lounge have a home tie against Maltby Rangers or Wath Tel-Star.

The full draw for the Sunday Junior Cup is: ECCLESFIELD PLAYERS LOUNGE v Winner of tie 90 (Maltby Rangers v Wath Tel-Star); Winner of tie 91 ((Millmoor Juniors v Maltby Stute or Don John Mens) v PENISTONE CHURCH) v WOODSEATS CLUB;  Swinton Robin Hood v Brinsworth Whitehill U21; CHAPELTOWN RBL v DALE WMC. All the ties are scheduled for Sunday 18 December, although the potential Penistone Church v Woodseats tie is very likely to be delayed until after that date.

20 NOV - SENIOR SUNDAY CUP - Redmires spot on to KO the holders, while double hat-tricks send Stannington and Norton Oaks through - Redmires won a penalty shoot-out to knock out the holders Westville to go through to the Sunday Senior Cup quarter finals. The Blades Super Draw League will make up 3 of the last 8 as hat-tricks for Danny Abdulla and Danny Smith saw Stannington Village hit double figures against Rotherham's APS Drawbridge, while Danny Reet (right) and Liam Paterson also both hit hat-tricks as Norton Oaks comfortably beat Meadowhall Premier Davys.

Given the hardest task of all, Redmires sent current Sunday Senior Cup holders Westville out after a penalty shootout. The game didn’t start well for Redmires as the visitors scored in the first twenty seconds, but Dave Knaggs’ men levelled when Chris Cottyn was sent tumbling in the area and Jon Wall finished from the spot. Andy Bath took advantage of some sloppy visiting defence to put Redmires 2-1 ahead before Westville levelled with quarter an hour left. No further goals followed so it went to penalties and in a nervous battle, Danny Turner (left) scored Redmires’ sixth before Joe Taylor saved to send his side through.

Stannington made the biggest impression with a comprehensive 12-0 away win at APS Drawbridge. Danny Abdulla scored a first half hat-trick as Village took the game by the scruff of the neck. Danny Smith matched Abdulla’s feat in the second half, whilst there were further strikes from Arnie Grayson with a brace – his first goals for the team – and singles off skipper Lee Johnstone, Joe Howsham, Alex Torr and Dean Jepson.

Also hitting the goal trail were Norton Oaks “A” as they defeated Davy’s 7-3. Despite intimidation from their opponents, Norton put the game to bed with five goals without response at half time: Liam Paterson with a treble and Danny Reet with a couple. In the second half, Davy pulled a couple of goals back to make it 5-2 but Reet completed his hat-trick with a superb long range chip to make it six. Charlie Patterson added a seventh Norton goal with a neat finish before the visitors scored a third in the final minutes. Action from the game is below.

JUNIOR SUNDAY CUP - Owen, Read and Roberts trebles see Woodseats & Dale through along with Ecclesfield and Chapeltown - In the Sunday Junior Cup Nicky Owen and Sam Read (left) both scored hat-tricks as Woodseats Club hit double figures against Chesterfield's Bolsover Town and Sam Roberts also hit three as Dale WMC brushed aside another Chesterfield side, Brampton Rovers. They are joined in the last eight by Ecclesfield Players Lounge who defeated Rotherham's Dalton Progressive, and Chapeltown RBL who comfortably won at Barnsley's FC Pockets. The Blades Super Draw League will make up 5 of the last 8 if Penistone Church win their delayed Round 4 tie.

Dale WMC took advantage of some slowness in Brampton Rovers defending to be 3-0 up after just ten minutes, Sean Maloney and a brace from Sam Roberts. Central defender Richard Hirst powered home a header for four before Brampton pulled one back only Maloney’s second of the game made it 5-1 at the interval. Some great play from Roberts and Jordan Wathall set up Ben Pond to crash a sweet half volley to made it six. Brampton then spurned a number of chances before making it 6-2 only for Roberts to complete his treble with a bullet shot from inside the box with eight minutes left. Action from the game is below - pictures by Mick Moat.

Woodseats Club had a comprehensive path into the next round, dispatching visitors Bolsover Town 11-0. Sam Read and Nick Owen both scored a hat-trick, Liam Bryon and Keith Cronin a brace apiece and one from Chris Lees.  Action from the game is below - pictures by Mick Moat.

Chapeltown RBL also got a clean sheet as they came away from FC Pockets with a 5-0 win. Joe Moorhouse and Ryan Robinson had them two goals to the good by half time before a nice volley from Louis Barnes made it three just after the interval. Good work from Joe Malone set up Andy Varns for a tap in and four before skipper Danny Cardwell fired home an unstoppable free kick to complete the nap.

Ecclesfield PL are also through after a 2-0 win at home to Dalton Progressive; a team that had knocked out fellow Blades Super Draw League side Crookes and District in the previous round. A lot of pressure eventually told when a Dalton defender turned the ball past his own keeper to give Paul Bashforth’s men the lead. Ecclesfield, driven on by man of the match Mark Groves, wasted a lot of chances to increase the lead but sealed the deal in the last ten minutes thanks to a low drive from Ashley Matthews.

CBC PREMIER - Haggerty special helps put Turf back on top, while Whitehill do the double over Phoenix and Angel get back on track - FC Handsworth Turf skipper Dave Haggerty (right) scored a real cracker as his side went back to the top by completeing the double over reigning champions Wadsley Bridge Pheasant. An Ainsley Finney double helped Brinsworth Whitehill complete the double over fellow Brinsworth side Phoenix, while a Rikki Davidson double against one of his former clubs helped Woodhouse Angel get back to winning ways with victory over Civil Sports A.

FC Handsworth Turf went back to the top of the CBC Premier when they came from behind to defeat current champions Wadsley Bridge Pheasant 4-1. Connor Simpson gave Pheasant the lead in the first half but the hosts failed to capitalise on chances and increase their lead, but Turf were a different side in the second half after a few changes. Former Rotherham defender David Haggerty superbly volleyed home from twenty yards after a corner had landed at his feet for the equaliser before two from Russell Hobson put the visitors 3-1 to the good. The inspirational James Leesley set up David Sills for number four and game over; Pip Miskell was outstanding for Turf

It took another comeback to secure the points, this time for Woodhouse Angel against Civil Sports “A”. Civil made the brighter start and took the lead with a superb effort from distance by highly rated striker Thomas Bamford. Experienced head Paul Billard made it two with another well taken effort, but a Johno Williams effort reduced the arrears before the interval. Former Civil striker “Rocky” Davidson scored twice to put Angel ahead and the points were secured when Civil keeper Joshua Branch went up for a late corner and failed to contact, allowing Angel to take advantage with Jordan Rymell scoring into the empty net.

The only other game in the CBC Premier saw Brinsworth Whitehill maintain their control in the Brinsworth derbies, defeating Phoenix 4-2. Phoenix made the early running before Ainsley Finney found the net against the run of play; only for Jack Hawkes to score a deserved leveller. Kieran Goff gave them the lead after some good play from Karl Fox but unfortunately Phoenix started to tire. Inspired by the pacy Adam Pursehouse, Whitehill started to wrestle the game away from the visitors. Substitute Sam Carr was in the right place to level after Cory Goodwin had been denied at point blank, before Pursehouse was sent tumbling in the box and Finney scored the go ahead. More chances followed, but Ross Johnson’s strike from the edge of the area secured the points and score a fourth Whitehill goal.

DIV 1 - Oughtibridge back on top - Oughtibridge WM are back on top of Division One after a home victory over Intake Old Boys. Chaz Tunnard opened the scoring after a great Ollie Black pass and team move before Callum Chambers put the game beyond visitors Intake Old Boys with ten minutes left. The hosts were grateful for a solid performance by Arran Lamb in cover for regular goalkeeper Paul Cadman, and saw the return in the last fifteen minutes of Justin Westoby whom had been out for eighteen months injured. The other two games at AFC George and Penistone Church were both postponed due to waterlogged pitches

DIV 2 - No stopping Pitt as Cobden beat Cadbury, but Norton Sportsman go back on top - Tim Pitt (left) scored four as Cobden View kept up their Division Two  promotion push with victory over Cadbury, but back on top is Norton Sportsman after their victory over another promotion challenger Colley. An El Yougo double helped Norton Oaks B stay in the promotion hunt with victory over Woodhouse Juniors, while Crookes & District beat Woodseats Chantry to win for a second week running for the first time in almost three seasons. Two Blunkett goals for The Sahkey and two from Oxley for Steelers saw the two sides share the points, but Woodhouse Village's visit to Civil Sports A was postponed.

Going back to the of Division Two are Norton Sportsman after a dogged 2-0 home win over a battling, yet scratch, Colley team. The opening goal came with fifteen minutes to go, Joe Muress being the man to notch. Chris Winters secured the win with five minutes left and hand Sportsman their three points. Closing to a point behind Norton and second placed Woodhouse Village are free scoring Cobden View as they beat Cadbury 6-0. After an even first forty minutes, with Cadbury’s keeper pulling off a list of saves, Tim Pitt opened the scoring. Yet Cobden turned it up another notch in the second half, Pitt adding three to make it four on the morning and singles from Cav Rowland and substitute Rich Higgins weighing in for six team goals.

Taking account of Civil Sports “B”’s inactivity, Norton Oaks “B” are now fourth after a 4-2 home win over Woodhouse Juniors. All the damage was done in the first half as a double from Hamza El Yougo and one each from Ryan Freeman and Joe Lawson with Luke Simmons responding for Woodhouse. Tom Bland scored a second visiting goal but Oaks have won four in four to head up in the right direction.

Jordan Sambrook gave bottom of the table Woodseats Chantrey a seventh minute lead at Crookes and District but Tawti restored the parity three minutes later. Ten minutes from half time, Jordan Coates continued his incredible run of scoring and that proved to be the winner as both sides failed to improve on their goal tallies whilst Crookes Neil Oldrey clearing four Chantrey chances from the line himself. Finally Steelers and hosts The Shakey shared six goals and had to settle for a point each in a 3-3 draw; Josh Blunkett (twice) and Andrew Redfearn for Shakey whilst Fraser Oxley – also with a double – and Joe Armitage provided the scoring.

13 NOV - CBC PREMIER - Stannington see of Angel to go top as Turf and Redmires draw, while Phoenix get off the mark - The hotly anticipated game in the CBC Premier Division ended all square as hosts FC Handsworth Turf and visitors Redmires drew 1-1. Turf will pinpoint their failure to take a number of first half chances to go clear at the top, with striker Russell Hobson hitting the crossbar and post and David Sills having a shot cleared off the line. Turf did take the lead in the second half when the talismanic James Leesley hit a twenty-five yarder into the top corner only for Redmires’ own talisman Jon Wall to level with a superb free-kick. The visitors were denied a penalty when player-manager Dave Knaggs went tumbling but the referee played on.

This result allowed Stannington Village, who started the day second, to ascend to the summit as they beat Woodhouse Angel 6-2 at Malin Bridge. Sean Flynn’s glancing header from Joe Barker’s cross gave Village the lead only for Jordan Rymell to level matters. Adam Todd’s twenty yard strike, off the post, restored the advantage only for Mitch Husbands to make it 2-2 at the interval. A well taken effort from Alex Torr made it 3-2, and the same player made it four from the spot after Mike Towey had been dismissed for a professional foul. Skipper Lee Johnstone made it five with an effort that was too hot to handle for the Angel keeper and Danny Smith completed the scoring when he danced past his full back before hammering home via the far stanchion.

Two identical goals from Liam Paterson (left) helped Norton Oaks “A” to move into fourth as they defeated current CBC Champions Wadsley Bridge Pheasant 3-1; a result that sends the visitors into the bottom three. Paterson latched onto two through balls to put his team in command, but Pheasant had a lifeline when Danny Barnsley scored after Oaks failed to deal with a set piece. Buoyed by this, Pheasant created many chances and Norton were thankful to Ben Birtles making a string of good saves before Alan Mowforth scored on the counter to seal the points.

In another good game, Civil Sports “A” came from behind to share the spoils with visitors Hallam in a 3-3 draw at Green Lane. Hallam took the lead on the half hour through Callum Frain before Civil skipper Ben Brown levelled from close range only for Adam Cawood’s (right) first of the day to give the visitors a 2-1 half time lead. Cawood’s second in the opening minute of the second half extended it to 3-1 before Harley Wilson’s penalty reduced the arrears with still forty minutes left. The home side made it 3-3 with a quarter of an hour left, Paul Billard slotting home after a one-on-one with the Hallam custodian.

The final game in the CBC Premier saw Brinsworth Phoenix take their first points of the season with a 4-1 win over fellow strugglers City Taxis. Phoenix took the lead with an amazing forty yard effort into the top corner from skipper Evan Watson that had the Taxis keeper rooted to the spot; but Shane Robsco made it level by the interval. The home team controlled the second half and added three unanswered goals thanks to Jack Hawkes, man of the match John Mellor and a controlled finish from Karl Fox.

DIV 1 - Leaders get Nicked, while Penistone get Council approval - Division One leaders Killamarsh Juniors were understrength for the visit of Woodseats Club; and suffered for it as they crashed to a 7-1 loss which sends Woodseats into third place. Nick Owen did the principal damage as he bagged four, Liam Bryon added a brace and Matt White one to put them into seventh heaven. Ryan Hall scored Killamarsh’s only goal who also had an effort chalked off for offside in the first ten minutes. Action from the game is below - pictures by Mick Moat.

Creeping up into second and maintaining their one hundred per cent record are Penistone Church as they scored a late goal to edge past Dale WMC 3-2. The in-form Tim Council headed them into the lead after quarter of an hour only for Jake Schofield to level from the spot three minutes later after George Rudd was upended by the Church keeper. Council’s side foot finish made it 2-1 before Rudd again was fouled in the area shortly afterwards and Schofield notched from the spot once more. A tight second half saw Dale hit the bar twice with quarter of an hour left before Council headed in the winner, completing a hat-trick, with just five minutes left.

Southey Social recorded their first win of the season when winning by the odd goal in five at high flying Intake Old Boys. Joe Lancashire scored twice for the hosts, but goals from Todd Guest, Josh Sugden and Lewis Twibell saw Southey take the points. In the final Division One game, Ranch had the majority of the play but had to settle for a point with AFC George. Michael Blythen gave the visitors the lead but Josh Naylor’s back post finish ensured the spoils were shared.

DIV 2 - Leaders get screwed by Phillips, while Coates gets Crookes up and running - The biggest surprise in Division Two came when leaders Woodhouse Village crashed to a 6-2 home loss to David Firth’s Civil Sports “B” team. Nick Lazenby had denied a bright Civil side on numerous occasions before Greg Burgin headed Woodhouse into a half time from a Lee Dolan free-kick. The game turned when Woodhouse had Matt Fells sent off for a late challenge, and Civil took advantage thanks to a treble from Jed Phillips, a brace from Joe Taylor and one from Mitchell Seymour. Josh Tomkins netted the other home goal following good work by Oliver Barrett.

Free-scoring Cobden View remain close by in third following a 4-0 away win at Woodseats Chantrey who remain rooted to the bottom of the table. Scott Green denied Cobden the lead ten minutes before the break with a superb penalty save but second half strikes from Tim Pitt (left) with two, Rich Higgins and Cav Rowland secured the win for the visitors who are just a point behind second place Norton Sportsman.

Having scored double figures the previous weekend against the same opposition, many would have expected Norton Oaks “B” to replicate it. However Steelers did gain some respectability as Norton settled for a 3-0 away win, and in the process record their third win on the spin. James Borrill scored a penalty to add to the four he scored the week prior, whilst Sam Wells and Ryan Freeman completed the scoring.

Two goals in the first half set Colley on the way to a 4-2 win when they hosted Woodhouse Juniors with Josh Connor opening the scoring and former Loxley striker Anthony Marshall doubling it by the interval. It was a more even second half with both teams scoring twice, Akram Miladi and big Dave Beevers adding to the Colley tally whilst Matthew Megson and Tom Bland scored for the battling visitors. And finally, a solitary goal from Jordan Coates, maintaining his good run of scoring form, was enough for Crookes and District to take the points at The Shakey.

8 NOV - The Twentytwo Cup Quarter Final draw sees Redmires set to host Turf  - The League Twentytwo Cup Quarter Final draw made at Bramall Lane today by the Blades Operations Director Dave McCarthy and the Blades Head Receptionist Sue Bramhall saw just one all CBC Premier tie come out of the bag, but it promises to be a real cracker between two former winners, Redmires and FC Handsworth Turf. Holders and CBC Premier Champions Wadsley Bridge Pheasant will play host to Division One Woodseats Club, while Division One title favourites and semi finalists last season Penistone Church entertain CBC Premier Woodhouse Angel. The last tie sees CBC Premier Norton Oaks A entertain Division One Killamarsh Juniors. All ties will be scheduled for Sunday 4 December, kick-off at 11 am, The full draw is Norton Oaks A v Killamarsh Juniors; Penistone Church v Woodhouse Angel; Redmires v FC Handsworth Turf; Wadsley Bridge Pheasant v Woodseats Club.

7 NOV - Turf to hold a "Pay your subs to John" day on 20 November  - CBC Premier leaders FC Handsworth Turf is well known for its charitable efforts and they are again putting their money where their mouth is by holding a "Pay your subs to John" day on 20 November. All their subs collected on the day and any other monies they can get from supporters, sponsors, friends, other grassroots players will be donated to Sheffield Legend John Burkhill (right) in his quest to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan. John lives in Richmond Park, Handsworth and we would like to show him our support for what he does.

6 NOV - LEAGUE TWENTYTWO CUP - Pheasant see off Stannington again, while Turf and Redmires win the other all-CBC Premier ties - Holders Wadsley Bridge Pheasant knocked Stannington Village out of the League Twentytwo Cup for the second successive season. Pheasant have not had the best of league results but in the Cup they have shown their true potential and they have made the quarter-finals with a 3-0 home win. Joe Howsham hit the post for Stannington with an excellent header from a Lee Johnstone cross only for Pheasant to counter and score when Danny Barnsley reacted first to a parried Adam Askwith (left) shot. Askwith made it 2-0 with a fine finish to put the home side in control at half time, only for Stannington to ramp up the pressure in the second half. Inspired by Man of the Match Luke Beedham, Pheasant repelled the visitors onslaught and secured the win with five minutes left when Kane Doughty set up Reece James for the clinching goal.

Another great game came at Redmires, who overcame fellow CBC Premier side Brinsworth Whitehill 6-3 after extra time. Redmires took the lead but Tom Coker’s twenty yard effort levelled matters. Cory Goodwin made it 2-1 with a fine header only for the home side to level just before the break. Ten minutes into the second half, Redmires edged ahead again but Adam Pursehouse’s cross was headed home by Tom Walker for 3-3. Three goals in the extra time period saw Redmires home. Redmires goalscorers were Conal Jacklin and Mikey Taylor with two apiece, Danny Turner and player-manager Dave Knaggs both adding singles.

FC Handsworth Turf played some excellent football as they disposed of City Taxis 7-0 at the HSBC Grounds. David Sills (right) and Pip Miskell had them two goals to the good inside the first five minutes before Sills completed his first half treble and James Leesley added another to make it 5-0 at the interval. The City Taxis goalkeeper was doing a sterling effort to keep the score down with a string of top quality saves before Russell Hobson headed home a Mario Esposito cross for six and Ryan Goodinson added a seventh. It was almost eight when Ben Shackshaft hit the post.

Danny Reet hit a hat trick to put Norton Oaks “A” into the hat as they won 3-1 at AFC George. He opened the scoring with the only goal of the first half, and then added two more in the second to put the game beyond the hosts. George then were reduced to nine men, but pulled one back through Damien Brown near the end. Action from the game is b below - pictures from Andy Dawson

Another hat trick hero was the free scoring Tim Council as Penistone Church beat Ranch 5-2. The home team took a first minute lead and added a second just before half-time only for Matt Jacobs to pull one back for Ranch. Two further goals extended it to 4-1 before substitute Joe Denby added a consolation only for Penistone to add a fifth. Penistone’s other goals came from Danny Howes and Mitchell Savage.

Rikki Davidson scored four times and Mitch Husbands once as Woodhouse Angel defeated Ecclesfield Players Lounge 5-1 at Davys. Mark Groves hit the visitors only goal. Killamarsh Juniors and Woodseats Club made the final eight, also with 5-1 wins. Killamarsh defeating Woodhouse Juniors away thanks to two goals from Joe Glover and one each for Chris Savage, Danny Phoenix and Josh Batterham. Tom Bland replied for Woodhouse. Two from Nick Owen helped Woodseats Club past Norton Sportsman  by the same scoreline. Beech, Flanagan and a twenty yarder from Lee Dyson completed the nap for Woodseats, while Josh Furniss hit Norton’s consolation.

CBC PREMIER - Civil make it three wins out of four - Civil Sports A made it three wins out of four with victory at Hallam in the day's only CBC Premier game. The home side started well but Civil came back into the game and took the lead thanks to Gary Eades. Both teams had chances in the second half, but Wes Bamford was the only one to find the net and secure the points in a well contested game superbly refereed by Paul Holmes. Action from the game is below - pictures by Mick Moat

DIV 1 - Intake miss out on top spot, but Oughtibridge see off Dale at last to go second - Intake Old Boys missed out on top spot by being held to a draw by fellow promotion hopefuls Chapeltown RBL and they even lost second place to Oughtibridge WM after they finally beat Dale WMC in their third consecutive clash. Chapeltown RBL will be ruing themselves as they let a two goal lead slip at home to a patched up Intake Old Boys side that had their manager Cole Starkes (right) playing his first game in four seasons. Joe Malone gave the home team the lead when heading home skipper Danny Cardwell’s cross and then Cardwell added the second with a superb turn and low finish. Starkes had missed a chance from a yard out but reduced the arrears with a curler from distance just before the break. Veteran James Colliver levelled early in the second half but despite both teams having more chances, a draw ended the fairest result on the day.

Oughtibridge WM raced into a three goal lead when eventually defeating Dale WMC 4-2. Goals from Chaz Tunnard, a header from Simon Duckworth and a brilliant, free kick from Ollie Black put them in control. Dale pulled goals back with an own goal and then Jake Schofield to create an interesting game only for the hosts to score a killer fourth goal with just five minutes to go when Strachan Sampson (left) allowed Danny Clinton to get on the end of a flowing team move to secure the points.

DIV 2 - Norton go goal crazy, while Village take over at the top and Cobden climb into the top three - There was thirty six goals in the four Division Two matches, with twenty one of them coming in the Norton Oaks “B” – Steelers encounter. Under pressure from the start with only able to field ten players; Steelers slumped to a 20-1 away loss is possibly the biggest scoreline in League history. James Borrill and Mark Turton both got four, Hamza El Yougo a treble, Nasa Meah; Jordan Holland and Michael Peake with a double each. Matt Jessermino, Sam Wells and John Bates completed the rout, whilst Steelers were thankful for an own goal for their sole strike.

Free scoring Cobden View went third after adding another glut of goals as they defeated The Shakey, 7-1. Ben Bell scored four, substitute Rich Higgins two, one a penalty, and Tim Pitt to make it seven, Shakey’s only goal being an own goal. Woodhouse Village went to the top after they came from behind to win 3-1 at Colley 3-1. Josh Connor had given Colley the lead but Tom Reed, Andrew Saville and Matt Fells gave the visitors the win. And finally, Farquharson’s early strike gave Cadbury a fifth minute lead at Crookes & District only for Totty to level early the second half, Crookes looked certain to go on and win but Conway grabbed the sweet men a winner ten minutes from time.

3 NOV - Chris goes for glory in the FA Cup  - Division Two Woodhouse Village's Chris Salt (right) goes for glory in this weekend's FA Cup 1st Round with his Saturday club Stamford AFC. The Northern Premier Division 1 South club goes to League 2 Hartlepool United hoping to pull off another giant-killing after beating National League Wrexham in a replay in the last Qualifying Round. It could be the first time a player currently playing in the Blades Super Draw League is also playing in the 1st Round of the FA Cup - I'm sure someone will let me know if it isn't!
1 NOV -
Referees for 20 November now listed  - Now that the County FA has published which referees have been taken for Sunday Cup ties, we have been able to publish which referees are appointed to Blades Super Draw League games on 20 Nov and they are now shown in the Fixtures section of the League website. The Home clubs should contact their referees immediately to confirm the details of the games with them and that the referee is still available. Please let Keith know if any say they cannot do the game as we currently have a number of spare referees for that date.
